If you like the WoW system so much, why don't you go play WoW? Or ESO, ToR, GW2, Rift, Runescape, FFXIV, Neverwinter, STO, DCUO, TSW, AION, or LoTRO?

The ENTIRE MMO industry, with the exception of EVE, offers exactly what you're looking for. Why do you insist on trying to turn eve into one of *those* games instead of just finding the mmo that fits your needs?

Indeed. If you don't like how this game works, play a different one.

Not hard, really.

Conversely, if you don't like a particular aspect of an entirety, feel free to post a suggestion that you feel might make the entire game better.

And with Veldspar, Scordite, Level 2 mission rewards/bounties, and modules earned from ratting/missioning, Ultra-sec would still be connected to the entirety of EvE.

That is why none of that can be there. 0 risk = 0 reward.

How is there zero risk? The player could lose his ship to an NPC. People will claim dudes only lose their ships in high sec because they failed to take the necessary precautions.

Which means that as long as something can still kill a ship, even an NPC and not a player, then there is still risk for the players to take precautions to avoid.

It was never suggested to have a "can't die" zone.
It was suggested to have a "cant be attacked by other players" zone. Simply changing a few 1.0 security systems to "ultra-sec" and removing all level 3+ missions from the systems converted to "ultra-sec" could address the possibilities surrounding it's implementation.

1st. There are no belt rats in 1.0 systems now, so you are talking about mission rats. Level 2 missions can actually give similar rewards to max skilled mining, if you know what you are doing.

2. As their are no belt rats, every miner in your ultra-sec zone would be able to fit no tank at all, no combat drones. Just mining equipment. There would be no reason to mine outside of your ultra-sec zone for two of the major ores in high-sec.

Yes, for someone running level 2 missions, there might be a small risk. For a miner, absolutely 0 risk.

Absolutely. And that suggestion will be met with fair consideration by all, as long as it doesn't undermine the one core fundamental concept that separates EVE from every single other MMO out there.

To be honest, I'm all for this idea.

If such an area existed, and if this area was more fun than the existing sandbox environment, then EVE is a joke and doesn't deserve my (or your) subscription.

Seriously, I see a lot of rage in this thread, what y'all afraid of? I mean, the sandbox IS superior to a WoW themepark, right?

Themeparks: WoW, ESO, ToR, GW2, Rift, Runescape, FFXIV, Neverwinter, STO, DCUO, TSW, AION, LoTRO and literally every single other MMO on the market.

Sandbox: Eve.

You are a selfish, selfish person if you wish to deny us our one full-sandbox mmo, regardless of what your intentions are.

1) We're making changes with the addition of Ultra-Sec systems, so in the vein of change, we add belt rats back to Ultra-Sec systems.

2) Readjust the Ultra-Sec 1.0 belts to only have varying types of Veldspar. Perhaps Introduce MINING PERMITS where the Ultra-Sec system only allows minerals to be mined from a mining barge and below. Exhumers being considered polluting or something.

Off-topic posting is permitted within reason, as sometimes a single comment may color or lighten the tone of discussion. However, excessive posting of off-topic remarks in an attempt to derail a thread may result in the thread being locked, or a forum warning being issued.

With all the "fun" of the last few hours that I missed, I'll be damned if I'm not going to post in this stupidity.

The only part of the OP that I agree with is the title: nerf hisec. Absolutely.

For #1, if you do that, get rid of the bounties & salvage drops. Oh, and they should be BS level rats w/ cruiser and elite frigate escort- that warp scram. Big smile

For # 2, You are making the single most required ore in the game, the easiest & most risk free to acquire.

And what exactly is the point to all this? EVE PVE is quite boring, if there is no risk from other players at all. There are better games for it. If I was going to spend 5 hours mining rocks, I'd be playing Space Engineers or maybe even Starflight or SC2.

I spent some time as a miner when I started 2 years ago. It gave me a chance to read up on some mechanics while keeping an active eye on my overview.

The most fun I had when mining was when I set myself a goal to build every T1 battleship in the game, with minerals I mined myself. Took me about a month, if memory serves. Getting high end minerals from a wormhole... That was interesting. The rest, not so much. Haven't really mined since.

I make a thread asking a question about the UI and it gets locked as trolling yet THIS thread is still up?

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Dude, you were collateral damage from yesterday's turkey shoot. The ISD can't very well unlock your legitimate UI question for ~reasons~, so I'd just chill a bit.

Yeah how about no?

ISD going crazy and locking everything because theyre going nuts is BAD and should be pointed out that its bad not ignored

And a bunch of people posting random threads only makes it worse.... Relax, and let things settle down. If you had posted that same question in one of the other forums, not GD, it probably wouldn't have been locked.

Why the hell is there a way to escalate tickets and **** if the ISD are untouchable and always right in their actions?

If you have a problem with the way the foruns are being moderated, file a petition. Im sure your idea couldnt possibly be so terrible that it deserved to be locked.

They're not always right, but they're usually mostly right.

The way to deal with this is to be calm and follow the process (e.g. file an appropriate petition). I myself once got a permanent forum ban as a result of collateral damage. Filed a petition, got the entire thing reversed and an apology within two hours.

It's not a perfect system, but it works. But you aren't making a case for yourself by spamming your issue in every thread.

I asked how to turn off the alert sound it makes when your shields drop because as an armor tank its annoying.

Funnily a GM told me there isnt a way, and a guy in game told me how lol
