POS Defense Question

In High-Sec, if your POS is attacked. The defense fleet can sit INSIDE the shield and fire thru it at the attackers correct? Or does the shield block all attacks, incoming and outgoing? Just trying to decide which way to go for defense, man the guns or park some BS in there to return fire.

You will have to man the guns. While you are inside the POS shield you can't be targeted/be dealt damage nor can you target anything or damage anything outside of the POS shield. Here is the Eve Uni wiki page on POS warfare.

POS guns are pretty slow to target, but if you man them, you can at least focus fire.
It's hard to get a kill unless the enemy is seriously not communicating with each other.

Really good POS strategies will sometimes include lots of E-war and hardeners. Make it hard to kill your POS.

If u r running a large POS in High sec, try Electronic warfare defense and put up 3 Harders for each type. Attackers will need ~ 60 people and around 6 hours to RF a tower like that. Dont bother with the guns, most of attacking fleets will have logis and most likely will be able to tank your POS guns easily. But if they're constantly being jammed and taking at least 6 hours to RF towers most will not even considered shooting it in the first place.

Get a **** load of Drone BS's, fill ALL low slots with drone damage amps, fill all rig slots with drone durability enhancers, fill all mid slots with sensor boosters and scan res scripts, fill all high slots with drone link augs.


  1. Jam enemy logi using POS modules
  2. Gently fly out of POS shield.
  3. Sick drones
  4. Gently fly back into POS shield.
  5. Go to step 2

Because **** anti-industrialists.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

If you have a High Sec POS just stack it up the Wazoo with hardeners and EWAR, nobody is likely to hit a well hardened Large in High Sec.
