The recent Pirate faction BS changes forgot one thing.

They forgot one thing, which was THE NESTOR. I actually was only recently reminded of it's existence by a freind when going over the Pirate faction changes.

So, will we see anything come out about the Nestor? Or is it now the ship everyone else (including CCP) have forgotten about.

If you check, none of the SOE ships were included in the pirate rebalancing: not the Astero, not the Stratios, not the Nestor. The reason's probably simple: the rebalance initiative was well underway before the SOE line was introduced, while every other pirate hull on the market predates the rebalance initiative.

True, but the Nestor is in a sad place in terms of usage. And usability. Everything else just does everything better. I don't think many people were asking for an exploration battleship with RR abilities.

the nestor is a giant, super expensive logi ship. the only way that i can se it being implemented is in fleet vs fleet, but no one is going to want to risk that amount of isk when they could just fly a t2 cruiser logi. so, imo, the lp cost of the nestor is going to have to be dramatically reduced in order to actually see it as more than just a collector ship

Nope, I can pull 3k per LP all week selling probes. I won't bother with the Nestor because its a poor return, period.

It might be rebalanced yet. I'm expecting CCP to announce a new pirate race for Summer, so there's still time for stuff I guess.

True SOE aren't actual pirates. But I think everyone knows that the nestor sucks and could use a buff.

As from somebody that owns 2 and uses them a lot, it needs 3 more lock slots, a lot less signature(since repping it up with a 2. normal logi is a pain currently if you don't have other RR BS to help out) and still could use a better capacitor as logi hull(yes even with 500M+ in T2 RR rigs it can hardly run medium reps in useful setups). To actually make it attractive outside the super niche of a fairly expensive logi BS it would need 100% damage bonus and 3 gun slots instead of 5 so you could use it more like the oldmarauders where used before they got the bastion mode. Oh and a Tracking link bonus would be nice. Bear

It isn't an exploration BS. It has the bonuses as free extras for flavour.
It is a combined logi/dps platform for spider tanking. No one really knows how good it is at this as it is currently too expensive.When the price drops people will test it out in combat.

If they aren't going to drop the LP cost, just yank all the logi bonuses off it and let the White Elephant be able to use a cov ops cloak.

At least people will have a reason to use the damn thing then.

The nestor is fine as it is. It has its own niche. Its expensive enough not to become a o.o doctrine, so it stays rare sight. Its perfect.

That thing was JUST created a few months ago. It obvious that if they planesd to change it they would have made it already changed for starts!

are they not making the guristas missile-dedicated? i thought i saw changes saying that their drone bonuses (including those improving bay size) were changing to missile buffs.
