Now i'm no financial expert but If you look at the financial document that 21 million is just a write off from the R&D department. Most likely the work that has already been done on WoD.

But other then that they are still making money.

Some time ago I had to write that WOD is the abortion asking dead in the womb, WOD dragged CCP backwards with all those failed attempts to develop it thru the years. You had it coming really. For DUST and now Valkyrie i don't have seen so much downs like with WOD, condition of those games may be poor, but CCP will deliver something more I think, like with EVE.

The article mentioned that CCP disclosed it's financials somewhere, anyone have these numbers? I'm curious to see.

All you had to do is to search "CCP finance report" in Google. :)

development for EVE did take five or six years (or something like that)

if it was a simple matter of one or the other, I wish for WoD.

really really really sad to hear it

bummer but sometimes you just have to shoot a project in the head once its become a black hole of cash. WoD was ambitious, especially how to integrate the various pieces of the experience in a game that can be very social and very political in the lore and in tabletop games, along with combat, talk of having multiple cities the camarill and sabbat could fight for, voting inprinces, etc.

the bloody tears of the WoD peoples on forums and facebook is interesting, though.

Their EvE revenue increased but their R&D costs increased more (most of that was WoD work that went nowhere it seems). The company should be fine overall.

There is no reason to cancel Valkyre since the project seems to be in decent shape, but you got to wonder how much money you can make off a game that requires an expensive optional HMD at this time (as far as i know there's no regular display version of Valkyre in the works).

As for Dust, they'll probably keep running it since the game exists and the losses have already happened, but the Dust dev team may get downsized since they don't have much left to work on, the revenue doesn't justify a large team. Unless you know they start work on that PC version that would quadruple their playerbase.

How so? EVE's playerbase are all PC gamers, but you assume that a significant number of them would play an FPS.

Accounting magic: 30 mil losses before tax, 9 mil income tax, 21 mil net losses? WTF. Or do they mean that 9 mil is income tax credit?!? Does Iceland actually do that? That would be nice.
