here's a novel idea! v. ship changes

What if ships introduced could never be changed? I mean the existing ships. Like if you buy a ship, it's going to stay the same as long as it's alive. If CCP wants to change mechanics, they can change all new ships produced, but existing ships stay the same? Would be more realistic and give very high values to ships that have survived for a long time. Also, would nudge CCP towards first releasing less powerful ships and perhaps slowly making them more powerful/specialized with each new update. Kind of like cars in the real world.

While "lol-realistic" it would be technically impossible to do as in the long run there would be tons of different versions of each ship. Just thinking about how a database would handle such things makes my head hurt not to mention how we the players would tell them apart.

Not only that, but the owners of the old ship BPO's could keep cranking them out. It would be silly to make a blueprint suddenly start making different versions of a ship all by itself.

Bad idea. Why? Would take too much resources, too much planning and its not that interesting to begin with.

Incarna bad.

That would be a terrible idea. Just think of caps. A titan/mom fleet would be unstoppable. Clear out the enemy subcaps with your AOE doomsdays from your old titans, Kill everything else with your targeted doomsdays (can still target subcaps!) and fighter bombers. Don't worry, any supers that your enemy builds will have 20% less EHP than yours due to the nerf!
