Is there a chance we can see how far WoD had come? I remember seeing a video from FF and the part showing WoD was cut. It'd be nice to see what CCP Atlanta had accomplished.

Ah, fair enough. The again, a few years ago, there were great hopes for both so neither was really up for cancellation. If anything the summer of '11 put a bigger dent in the WoD development than in Dust, since the tech demo that was WiS got such a bad reception. Straight

Lets see what options we have now with all the free $$$:

1. Make Dust to PC - too late on that already, game practically dead.
2. Fix EVE - like you really going to do that?
3. Put all the money in the Facebook Oculus Rift - I actually see you do that stupid mistake. it won't be the first.

We know the value in the IP and are going to be reviewing the status of it in the near future. There aren't any plans for it at present.

Please replace CCP Falcon. Lying to people losing their jobs, and the community is not something someone in his position should be doing. I mean you're already laying people off may as well get some one who failed the basic parts of his job.

Given that CCP gutted White Wolf's offices when you had to fire 20% of the company after the Incarna rage, and the rumors of constant cuts from that studio over time, this is hardly a surprise.

Was WW bought FOR the purpose of not actually having to fire actual CCP staff when you have cutbacks?

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Well ****. You at CCP have a nice habit of stringing people along as much as you can, don't you? At least to your credit you admitted after only two years that WiS was wholly and completely canned till the foreseeable future, instead of after six years. Not cool, not cool at all.

I hope all the best to all who worked at CCP Atlanta... Not much else one can say.

Hopefully it's only a temporary mothballing rather than a full-fledge binning of the dream. I still believe that CCP can make a WoD MMO happen, even if it's not going to happen yet.

In my opinion, focusing on only a single IP is a risky move: all the eggs are back in a single basket now, and I don't think that's sensible for a company that wants to grow. Even if the IP in question is a successful and growing one like EVE, things change, and diversity is a hedge against the unexpected.

It would be nice to know WHY the project had to be shelved, though. Were the challenges technical, artistic, financial? And what can the community do to try and bring our vampires back from the dead?


8+yrs. of work and not a single beta released. And you have to ask why? What invester do you know would commit in those circumstances....

But like I said, when the Incarna backlash happened and they announced the entirety of the 20% cut was coming from the WW Atlanta offices (except for them firing all of the community moderators here), I wrote WOD off as dead.
