The following candidates have admitted to actually mining recently.
Most of them have only done a bit of mining.
Steve Ronuken is the only one who seems to be an highly active miner with Mike Azariah coming second.
All the others mentioned below are basically casual miners.

Steve Ronuken (by far the heaviest miner)
Mike Azariah (second heaviest miner)

Casual miners:
commander aze
corbexx
Einear Lightfingers
James Arget
Karma Bad
Asayanami Dei
Karen Galeo
Proclus Diadochu
Sugar Kyle

If mining is important to your experience in EVE, the above candidates are the only ones who are actively sharing your gameplay.

I agree that miners (in general) don't run for CSM.

Judging by the distribution of the candidates, mining is clearly of minor concern to this games leadership.

Which is very shortsighted. Where do they think their ships come from? Chribba is not the Veldspar fairy bestowing raw materials on people who leave a pod under their pillows. There are no 800mm ammo trees to harvest.

For all the hate that miners get in this game a LOT of people forget that it is one of the foundations of our play.

Straight

The fact that we seem to collectively find it an awful, boring task doesn't mean it's of no concern.

It is a question of economics. Mining is critical to the game, but it is horribly boring and when I want to make money, I have more efficient ways of doing so. :)

I licked myself over the lips, contemplating about pushing F1 to harvest some minerals.
I found myself frustrated and also rigid, my firm finger could not push down the button.
I slapped myself over the head of my shishkebab, then i took up my shishkebab and threw it on the keyboard.
Alas several keys were pressed and i got disconnected from the matrix.
When i logged in, i had harvested 113 pieces of Kernite.
I was timidly proud of myself and wondered what would happen if i harvested 113 pieces more.

This year i spent 13 seconds mining, they were the most horrifying seconds of my life. I still tremble when i contemplate this misfortune and how it has damned me.

I took a look at the CSM minutes.
It is only mentioned peripherally in the first meeting and is not mentioned at all in the second meeting.

Please give evidence this aweful and boring (your words, not mine) aspect of the game is of concern to the games leadership.

Mining is often done by alts and mutiple accounts, which makes a sizable portion of subscriptions paid by this choice to get necesarry minerals as input to eve s lifecycle. Being boring they mean income. If u would remove them for afk, automated processes run by 1 character then eve woudl see a drop in paying accounts. Soooo yeah they do matter. More then u might Think at first sight.
