I hate the way the douchebags changed all the rules so now no self-respecting space pilot can carve a decent career out of null sec. Why, before Band of Brothers, we had to hack out our livings with a nail file and book of matches. Now look. All these new high-tech devices making life easy for everybody. Why, this is the only game in history to turn Carebears into Pyrates. It's embarrassing, I tell you it's downright....uh...oh, sorry. I thought this was FROM Bitter Vets.

My bad.

Paradise is like where you are right now, only much, much better.

Of course we did it again and then again, the dream unfolded as before and the sparks flew earlier and earlier. Finally we just skip the screening and wave middle fingers at each other with nary a smile when we pass.

You fly an atron IRL?? **** me, my new RAM 1500 doesn't seem quite so awesome anymore.

If that RAM doesn't have a HEMI in it, it isn't awesome...

On that note I just helped tow a Ram 1500 out of a ditch with a Ford Ranger ><

Those weren't bitter vets. Cant be. Bitter n00bs... yeah. probably.

Welcome back!

TBH ... the people that I kno that may now be termed "bitter vets", the ones who now talk about the "good old days" and threaten to quit, well they always whined and complained and threatened to quit even when they were new players.

In my experience the bittervets are the ones who have been here long enough to know how much longer they have to be here to get what they want, and resent it.

Sadly, our public channel is full of FailHeap crew who parrot the exact **** that Lailyana is describing on a regular basis.

They also tell us how awesome dual MWD nano ships are and that we should train our learning skills first.

They're a little bit out of touch, but stroking it to MLP porn will do that to you.

Ive been back 4 days, and have won 4 fights, lost 6 almost 200 mil isk and have had a smile on my face the entire time. When you have a thrasher in structure when youre in an atron and you dont get all shaky, you're playing the game wrong., or have extremely low blood pressure and should seek medical attention.

To the new players coming in, SP doesnt matter, you wanna pvp? go pew, lose ships, for the love of the amarrian gods have fun, worry about thermodynamics later, learn about tracking, and tracking speed, just play how you wanna play. to the bitter vets who said that adrenaline would wear off, you were massively wrong and in a way i wish you still experinced the game as I do, with a smile, not by station spinning, but buy watching 13 million isk go up in a spectacle of fire and sparks with the words capsule ejected above where youre modules used to be. we may all proclaim EVE = RL but until i sit in a condor with light missles and warp to a sun at 100km its a game, have fun guys

TL;DR: Bitter vets are wrong, much pew, such boom, many wow, and grr goons (i think that covers everything)

*yawn*, come back in 5 years and we can talk

And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit.

Bitter anyone is wrong - Im a SweetVet, here since beta - And I will confirm brave young newb OP's claim.

- SP Does not matter, you can have fun and be helpful to even big alliances in a week,

- Time in game does not matter. It's been ten years for me, I have 140+ million SP and I still get a rush during some engagements. I still have different ships to fly and things to do if I want to.

The fact is, at the end of the day, the only things that matters is your attitude and your willingness to do something different. Don't listen to the bittervets, doing something for a long time does not necessarily mean you are good at it. Besides, you really have to question the advise of anyone who continues to pay for a game they seem to be bored with.

Is this thread going to last till the bitter end? Imagine. Some aliens come and sift through the ruins of our civilization and find only this thread to become a road map that defines our millenia of effort to establish ourselves as a culture and society. I can't think of a better example to be part of. Here's my contribution.

contribution to the cultural road map forum thread for alien orientation

Oh yeah. Hi aliens! Glad you could make it! We'd have welcomed you, but we wiped ourselves out 'cause that was easier than learning to be nice to each other! So, if you brought some technological advances to save us from ourselves,
you're LATE!

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Once upon a time I was just like you!

So young and inexperienced.

When I first did PVP, I had the shakes, my heart was pounding away, sweated bullets. Over time you got used to it and these slowly faded away. You missed "the rush" so you went onto other forms of PVP. Ganking, awoxing, large engagements, you name it!

The more you pew pew, the faster it goes away!

So, congratulations on your 4 kills! That's "impressive".......no no it really is!

And, since I don't get the shakes anymore, that means I have low blood pressure or I don't know how to play the game anymore?

Really? Bold statement!

Nope, it just means that you have combat reflexes, are cool under pressure and are a professional. You are a capsular.

Dumbing down of Eve Online will result in it's destruction...

what bitter vets? Seems to me that any vets would be more likely to side with those that say you don't need max SP to PVP... more likely they were bitter noobs... not vets.
