Suddenly we are voting?

No nominations? No campaigns? No minimum votes to qualify? Suddenly out of the blue we are voting? I miss all the hopla from past elections! The posters, YouTube, you know, actual campaiging? Candidates who worked for a vote lol. The CSM serves as advisors/stakeholders to CCP developers and management. I've read most of what they publish and I've watched the effectiveness of various chairmen over the years. This is the first year I have felt left out! Is any candidate going to muster anywhere near the votes The Mittani did? I don't think so. In any case, not a single candidate has earned a vote from me! Does it make any difference? No. But it sure was a lot more fun in the lead up to the election! Bring back the fun of the elections for crying out loud! No coding required!

Our corporate symbol is a blue Egyptian Ankh representing pure eternal life, surrounded by 8 gold stars representing The Eightfold Path on a red background representing sacrifice and committment to the everliving, beloved of Ptah...

There, there.....

it's not our fault that you weren't paying attention to all the blogs, and podcasts, and townhalls that were done over the last 3 months or so.

And it's certainly not our fault that you paid zero attention to the Jita Park section of the forums.....

Yes, there's Jita Park, GD, and C/P.

It has been extremely badly advertised.

Wonder why?

The usual invested parties will be represented - in this instance I have high hopes that my fave candidate will also be represented.

Aaaaaaand relax.

The reason why not many people pay attention to the CSM or that those who do end up not even voting is because the whole thing has turned into something resembling a game of Musical chairs. Some of the faces may change but the bloc voting that gets them on the CSM will have been the same that got the previous guy in from the same alliance.

I for one did pay attention to the candidates running for this CSM and did vote, as I did last year, but voter apathy runs deep.

That isn't a reason not to vote. The fact you are here puts you light years beyond most folks.

Got be honest, after browsing the CSM Campaigns section of the forum I was left unimpressed.

Nobody stood out, they just blended into one person.

Some of the people I have no idea who they are, others are just , well, bland, and the rest are just your standard run of the mill null sec alliance candidates who we get elected regardless of what they write or do.

Personally I will not be voting this year as there is nobody who I care about and wont vote for the sake of voting.

That's a shame. Maybe vote on something someone cares about rather than your own needs?

I voted mainly on knowledge, experience and then on my own area (low sec)

Edit - knowing who they were prior to the vote was entirely irrelevant.

Aaaaaaand relax.

I don't vote for those who care about what I need but for those who want to improve Eve as a whole and who have the communication skills and knowledge to do that.

The way I look at it if a person has never posted on the forums, or has but I have never noticed anything they have had to say then why should CCP?

I use Malc as an example, I might ot agree with some of the thing he says or the way he sometimes put across an argument, but by god you take notice and has a great presence.

He is somebody you know will be listened to and will be able to communicate well with CCP.

It's almost like they're just some people who are offering to do a bunch of work on your behalf.

How can people like that even think that they deserve 60 seconds of your valuable time each year?

I love tough guys like you. Run along now, your momma wants you to fold her underwear.

EDIT: Listening to a CSM make recommendations for CSM is like listening to a bank robber give suggestions on sentencing limits for bank robbers.

When you have coalitions of tens of thousands of players and their alts you don't need to campaign. The winners were decided a long time ago.,
