Alliance/Corp Fitting Management > Fleet Doctrines

I am not the first to think of this ("having corp doctrines" suggested by Chris Zanjoahir in Convenient solution #2- Fitting charges). Also similar to Custom "Corp" certificates, my idea requests a fittings-window update/change to include doctrines for corporations and alliances.

Essentially, the fittings window needs MOAR attention. A fleet commander needs better in-game tools for building a fleet. I realize a player's skills often limit what a player can fly and the fittings they use on their ships. Fights tend to be long enough without having to figure out exactly what fleet composition is needed. Custom fleets are built on the fly anyway, but saying a fleet name usually includes an internal-forums link.

In-game doctrines saved in the fittings window for corporations and alliance can save time trying to figure out what exactly is needed, so we can get back to fighting, dying, and buying replacement ships. Also of note, please like Chris Zanjoahir's (first link above) for suggesting "fittings include fitted ammo and charges so they automatically equip when you load a fit".

Agree 100%. It's a change that wouldn't be game breaking, would not really favor one style of play over another (not another lowsec ganker/nullbear/wh shark change)

Seeing another round of the Reasonable changes questionaire thing would be a good thing, imho...

Also agree with this. I think it's been proposed in various posts over the years in the F&I forum. But both definitely would be beneficial to every group that uses the Personal/Corp fittings tool.

I'm right behind you

So long as there are no plans to expand coalitions, yes.

alliance wide certificates, or at least custom certificates in some form, would be really good.

"**CCP is changing policy, and has asked that we discontinue the bonus credit program after November 7th. So until then, enjoy a super-bonus of 1B Blink Credit for each 60-day GTC you buy!"**

Never forget.

Interesting thought. I guess that also would be good for n3wbr0 training plans... click-drag the fleet doctrine custom certificates link into chat.

Security is a huge issue for protecting new fleet doctrines or op info, so only linking the doctrine training plan in the form of a custom certificate group has potential. I suppose each fit window needs a button to export required skills to training plan; the same functionality is needed for exporting the training plan for each corp/alliance fleet doctrine.

These exported training plans would simply and quickly allow recruiters to recruit only those who can fly doctrine ships without specifically revealing the fits for doctrine ships. Fleet commanders making adjustments to fleet doctrines would also benefit from easier communication to corp/alliance members for what to train next.

So, here is my guess on how this would be implemented:

[Doctrine] Frigate Roam Fleet composition:
10x Kestrel
2x Griffin
2x Bantam
2x Condor
2x Merlin
1x FN Comet
1x IN Slicer

Skills/requirements for each ship fit, all exported. The exported list of skills for an individual fleet fit/doctrine should allow for toggling on/off specific ships in that doctrine. So often, custom fleets are built on the fly, but tracking those changes can give corp and alliance leadership a proper method recording what happened.

Combine the above (corp/alliance fleet doctrines) with saving a fleet composition for a winning combination, but ccp seems to be out to lunch or sleeping.

Though, a fleet composition is normally built from scratch to match what the players on your team can fly, wouldn't it be nice to save yourself a couple steps every time you form up? Also, converting a currently occupied fleet into a new fleet comp (fleet settings > load saved fleet) just makes sense if you think about it.

Based on responses, it must be an issue for CCP to write code for this versus do the players actually want this. Though, little feedback so far from the big power blocks that would likely gain the most utility.
