What purpose would an Impairor orbit a low sec .3 system gate that leads to a .5 system. After scouting the .5 and every other system that connects to this .3 system there were no one else in Local. There was no one in Local of this particular .3 system other than my self and this lonely Impairor.

What was the purpose of this?

Cyno?

Bait?

Stupidity?

I just can't figure an angle for this.

I didn't convo him. I should have thinking about it now.

Does anyone know what this guy might have been doing?

Thanks in advance.

Was he orbiting backwards trying to run the odometer in reverse before a sale?

You're young, you'll adjust. I'm old, I'll get used to it.

A. He is trying to collect some kill rights.

B. He wanted a quick ride back to his clone station.

C. He may have been scouting the gate, so he could jump another ship through. (Hauler, Freighter, anything really)

Ahhhh...yes. Kill Rights. I didn't think about that. I would say that that would probably be the most probable situation. Sounds like a boring way to play eve though.

Thank you guys for replying!

Killright collecting, how quaint.

I forget some people need a valid excuse to find the F1 key

I didn't. I so wanted to...but our operation was moving stuff to and from a WH. The uncertainty of what he was doing and causing us to possibly have a clash while we were in industrials and scouts did not fit in the plan. Eh. I see now that I should have. :)

It can be one-shotted by my dead grandma. Align out, kill it, warp off.

If it's a tarp, you're out before they can spring it
If it's a nub, it's a free kill
If it's some scrub who thinks collecting killrights is big and clever, they suck at PvP so it's basically another free kill

You have nothing to lose by random acts of boatviolence.

Once you lose the safety blanket of being able to get into highsec and/or having people who don't legally have the right to shoot you on sight, you'll realise killrights are a useless crutch clung to by talentless twasms.

Better question OP... why did you have to think about killing a Rookie Ship in low-sec? Just nuke it and carry on.

In low you can killa ship even without worrying about a Killright. In low you only get Killrights if you shoot at the pod (don´t even have to destroy it.), so don´t worry and kill it next time^^

Yes...you all are right. I should have not even given it a second though. Kill rights aren't an issue at all with me. I am mostly in a WH or Null anyways....

Thanks everyone for replying though. I will just chalk it up as a missed opportunity...of which I have had many in my EVE days.

This that person near Shuria? I always assumed it was a scout/someone to turn you suspect for the pirate gang around there. Surprising amount of pirates for an area with almost no traffic.

I'm sorry I don't recall. It was in 'random LS system that my WH chain opened into'. This is probably another missed opportunity in that the systems we operate in are sometimes a blurr and who resides there not a factor.

This is primarily the reason that I posted this thread.....My knowledge of LS aggression near a gate is limited.

With that said, I ask you guys....what type of ship could I have used to shoot said impairor without getting killed by the two present gate guns? I will bet an interceptor would have been popped right?

I want to say again, thanks for all the answers up until now. Many a people get shooed away from these forums because of the hostility or presumptuousness of many who post.

You seem very upset at these killright collecters. Almost like as if someone collected kill rights on you and perhaps blapped you in high-sec when you weren't expecting it.

Confirming this is true because I'm pretty much always right.

It was probably the Zinoo system and the person was probably 'S Proserpina'... They're nearly always in there either orbiting the hisec gate in an Imparior or sat at the Sun in said ship or Pod.

If you Pod them, they make the killright public for 50million ISK.

If you align out and shoot and warp off to the closest celestial or a safe you can bounce back to the gate and shoot without risk of the gate guns firing again. Alternatively get yourself 150km off the gate and you won't take the gate guns...

Edit: Nevermind, Zinoo is 0.4 and OP said 0.3... Eitherway S Proserpina in Zinoo does the same...

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."
