Hi, I'm a new player with about 1.9 mil SP but everywhere I look people want pilots with about 20 mil SP.
What do I do? Just play by myself doing missions and learning to pvp until I get enough SP?
My problem is that I play Mmos to be social and enjoy the company if other people and make friends to play together.
I want to pvp and the only corps that are willing to take me have about 10 members Max so group pvp would be out of the question.

Please give me some pointers, I love this game but I feel I'm only experiencing a small part of it when playing solo.

Thanks.

You can try joining EVE Uni (but I've heard that some of their PVP lessons aren't exactly....applicable to any situation). Other then that I don't know any "teaching" corps out there off the top of my head but they DO exist.

As for just the social aspect you can try joining my channel and/or a channel called "The Ale House". My channel and a little snippet on how to join channels is in my bio (click me on the left <- or find my character in-game with people & places).

Both channels are nice places to hang out sometimes and not feel utterly alone in the 'verse hehe. People in those channels might pick up on your interest in waning to PVP and might even invite you on a spur-of-the-moment roam in low or nullsec.

If you want to join into PvP and are a starting pilot I suggest joining:

RvB - BLUE Republic [RVB-B] or RvB - RED Federation [RVB-R]

These 2 alliance are in constant war against eachother (not actual war but the war is there just so they can do PvP).
They have both 1vs1 pvp but also some group PvP.

Or you could look at more 'newb friendly' corps around, there are plenty of corps that will accept new pilots into their corp.

some info that would help people guide you:

What kind of pvp are you looking for (high sec, low sec, null sec, wh, merc work?)

Are you looking for a training corp or do you want to get in with a group of experienced players.

Do you care if you cannot go to high sec or certain regions of high sec?

I will reiterate this later, but the most important thing about a corp is the people. You have to find a good fit, and there is a sh!tload of variation between people in eve. Do not be afraid to try different corps and leave when/if you don't think it is a good fit.

A lot of new characters get stuck in this "i have to be loyal to the first corp i join" mentality (i did and i know plenty of others), but it simply doesn't matter that much unless you have been with a corp for a very long time.

I has all the eve inactivity

Put up a post saying what you're looking for. You'll get invitations and have corps to choose from.

If you go into the corp tab ingame you can see adds put out by corps and a tool to help you find the ones you are looking for.

I suggest you get about 3-4 mil sp first as this can help you land a better corp.

Forums here have lots of adds and lots of empty promises. Best suggestion I have for you is fine one experianced player that will take you under thier wing. They can help you learn the game and get you a corp.

Good luck!

This link contains a small guide on how to find a corp that is right for you,and several other people have added in advice on their own on what to look for,and avoid.

Just be patient, finding a good corp is hard but it really will make the game that much more enjoyable for you Smile

Drop a post in the Unemployment (?? correct . I can't recall now) channel in game.

I'm not sure if it'll be the same for you, but I used it and got more offers then I was expecting. Good offers too.

I'd apply to them anyways.

The corps are out there.

Look at the corps part of an alliance. For example join a missioning and incursion corp that is part of an alliance with a pvp division, train your general pvp skills and be open in alliance chat that you want to do pvp and they should let you join from time to time, if your good and learn quick your sorted.

There are corps out there who take new pilots, and train them, and we're one of them. Thanks to those who gave Rrokee some good advice here on the forums (wow these look nice I should come here more often).

He found us and signed on, and in about a month he'll be up to speed on life in EVE, at the very least the important points!
