Wormhole Oddities

Before I get to the point, a little information is required. So please bare with me.

Yesterday, whilst in a wormhole, there was ship on d-scan and four signatures that could be scanned down. Two were wormholes and two were gas sites (already bookmarked).

Now, because we couldn't pinpoint this ship via d-scan at any sites or planets we assumed he was safed up, so we decided to drop combat probes and find him. However, once we found him, we noticed that he was at a wormhole. This wormhole however was not on the system-scan and did not show up via the use of probes (for three of us, not just myself).

Obviously this wormhole had to have been on scan or viable to find via probes at some point as this other ship had found it.

Anyway onto my point. We "showed information" on the wormhole once we got there and this is what it showed. When trying to jump through the hole however, this is what we got.

Basically the wormhole, for myself and two corp members had bugged out. Yet the fellow we were searching for had found it and used the hole. We could not.

We have petitioned it and filed a bug report as we were requested, but I am curious as to whether anyone else has come across this oddity before?

Bare in mind this WH had not appeared on system-scan, nor had it appeared via probes for us; Yet for another person it was viable to find. I have done a quick forum search and net search to see if this had been mentioned before but I did not come across anything.

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

Probably 3-4 years ago when I lived in a C2/HS&C3, I had rolled our C3 and landed on the new one, on attempt to jump through I received the "Wormhole has Collapsed" message and it despawned. Straight

Wormholes have been acting a little strange for the last couple of weeks. We had several Orcas collapse holes they shouldn't have come close to closing.

Can you hear them? They are calling to us. It is beautiful. http://thegreattichim.wordpress.com/

No problem, figured I would write up a post and find if similar had happened elsewhere.

That's initially what we thought, someone collapsed it and it had bugged, but we saved the 'Ghost Wormhole' and kept an eye on it. It didn't despawn until a good hour or so later.

I've definitely noticed wormholes acting up lately. But I've not noticed them de-spawning quickly with Orca's yet (although I don't fly Orca's so moot point really on my part Straight).

We had three Orcas rolled out. All of them jumped into a hole that were an Orca past half-mass, and all of them experienced delayed closing animations. What I mean by that is, hole doesn't shrink, and Orca has plenty of time to align to hole, and when pilot clicks jump, he was given the notification that the hole collapsed. And then the hole went poof.

2/3 Orcas were properly fit.

Mine was not.

My poor Orca.

Slighty of topic but...

I had a wormhole vanish about a half hour before downtime, but no ship came through. I watched it collapse for seemingly no reason.

Had it reached the end of its natural cycle? Or did it just vanish even though it should have been open for another 'x' hours?

It was less then 8 hours old, it shouldn't have despawned for quite a while. I believe all K-space connected holes are supposed to have a 24 hour lifetime, and this one had spawned not too long ago.

Oh man, slightly off topic but similar tale. We were rolling a Hole, we had a Moros jump, then my orca, then my BS. Someone got confuzed or I got confuzed, and 2 BS were jumped when only 1 was needed. hole went crit, we brought the BS back, i got my pod to where my orca was, and the moros rolled me out. My orca was not fit for probing herself out, but I did have a probing ship in cargo bay, so i had to use my combat toon to probe my logoffski orca out of the hole. The only exit I found, was a lowsec 4 jumps from high. Took my chances, scouted myself, and docked in high about 2 hours after the fact. It was not fun by any means.

This is as nice as I get. Best quote ever https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4137165#post4137165

ive had this happed immediately after a WH collapsed.
new one spawned in same spot, i could jump through but when i tried jump back it closed.
i petitioned it and CCP said something like 'WHs are dangerous, bring probes, move along'.

Damn that's a bit odd indeed. (As a side note, I saw a wormhole destabilise once due to natural lifecycle ending. It was pretty cool, kinda just implodes).

That's the thing, this wormhole hadn't, at any point, been a part of our chain visually on the scan or via probes... In bound or outbound. This wormhole just didn't exist and hadn't existed (at least not for us). The only reason we found it is due to this new ship appearing through unknown means. (If that makes sense?)

it''s problably a c4 wandering wh. those things are finicky sometimes. T405 does the same nonsense too.

Edit: C4's in general are finicky. B4 odyssey, you could hide all the anomalies.

Edit 2: You know that in order to fly into a C4, you must be fit with warp core stabs right.... Roll

Damnit...your "Edit 2", so that's where I have been going wrong!

Well got a reply from the petition. Not qouting the GM or anything as it's not allowed but the gist of it was file a bug report, which is done and dusted. Hopefully if someone else comes accross similar, wack a note in here as I'd be interested to find out if it happens to anyone else...
