I am hearing about an bounty summer reset and all bounty is wil be lost ?

Whats up with that ?

It's called "Burn Jita". You will get killed enough times in an expensive ship to lose all of your bounty.

There was/is some rumor that bounties placed but not claimed are reset after a certain span of time.

I have yet to see that happen with my own bounties...

I remember having bounty I have given reimbursed, but I forgot how it works.

Apparently, bounties do (or at least can) clear with 50% refunded to the issuers if the character has been inactive (not logged in) for a long enough time. Source: https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Bounty (which itself cites patch notes for Retribution which say the same thing)

This may be why Nerath hadn't seen his bounty clear; he's active, or at least enough so that CCP's bounty clearing won't trigger.

It does make sense, considering players who quit or are banned wouldn't be logging in to make the bounty accessible, so removing them makes room for other players to be desirable targets for bounty hunters, at least until the hunters figure out how the system works and realize they're better off using a different criteria for target selection.

The whole system is an ISK sink, nothing more, about 99% of the time. Not really working to best effect.
