Storyline trigger mechanics

I am looking for clarification regarding the trigger mechanics behind storyline agents.

1. Does the division of the storyline agent or the type of regular missions I grinded influence the type of the storyline mission I get?

2. Say I grind missions for Lai Dai corp, and there are two storyline agents one system away. One belongs to Lai Dai, the other to Caldari Navy. Which one is triggered after the 16th regular mission?

3. When selecting a storyline agent, is the distance measured from the agent giving the 16th regular mission or from my current position? (Say courier mission ending in another system.)

Thanks.

It's been my experience so far that the division doesn't matter too much when determining the type of storyline mission. but the corporation that grants the 16th will determine the storyline agent the mission comes from. In your example, the storyline agent will be in a Lai Dai station and not Caldari Navy, and will be the closest Lai Dai storyline agent to the station of the mission giver. I've done nearly all Cadari Navy since I started back, and while the first 2 or 3 missions were the supply mssions, all of them since have been combat-oriented (my last storyline being tthe first 4-part mission involving Sansha.)

1) no

2) The one that comes first in the database.

3) agent location

If you take all the sand out of the box, only the cat poo will remain.

I didn't read that as a yes/no question. The storyline mission type is dictated by the storyline agent's division/Corp, not the division of the agent you've been running.

In my experience, it's been the storyline agent of the same faction as the regular agent, nearest the last agent (16th) I ran a mission for.

Re: that last bit--you don't have to run 16 missions for the same agent to trigger the storyline. It's 16 missions for the same Corp and same level. So, if you put some research in, you can try to find a storyline agent you want to run missions for and run your 16th mission with an agent in Lai Dai as near that agent as possible. No guarantee that you'll be able to make it work, though...depending other faction storyline agent locations.

I believe it's same Faction and same level.
