The once a year skill remap.

I recall when training skills were done away with, CCP allowed players to remap all our training skills.

Well, if we have annual neural remaps, how about an annual skill remap?

I know Ive burned alot of skill points on "trying" stuff out before I got an idea of what I really wanted to do.

If once a year seems to much, how about once per character account? You get the one shot and that's it.

To be fair, I can see an argument for a skill remap at some arbitrary, but relativity short (three months?) time. A one time skill remap. New pilots start training without a clue as to why or for what reason they are are actually using it.

It would help with retaining new players and flatten the learning curve ever so slightly.

No.

Time for the standard copypasta:

It removes the point of having skills to begin with.
It removes the mechanics and balance for skill progression and specialisation.
It removes the point of having attributes.
It removes attribute implants from the game.
It removes variety and instead encourages FOTM and cookie-cutter setups.
It removes the uniqueness, history and "character" of your character.
It removes planning and choice and consequences.
It removes goal-setting, progression and any achievement in those areas.
It kills character trading.
It massively boosts older characters over new ones.
It introduces "catching up" as a concept in EVE and instantly makes it impossible to do.

What you're asking for is essentially that skills be removed from the game. If that's what you're after, just ask for that instead. If it isn't what you're after, then you shouldn't ask for skill remaps either. Also, it doesn't solve anything that the skill mechanic hasn't solved already so there is no reason to introduce all of the above problems to begin with.
