It does slightly amuse me, that for the price of a monacle, you can paint 35 Battleships, or 280 Frigates. When I was last at the optician, my glasses cost me £300, so by that reckoning, I can take my Vauxhall down the garage, and get a snazzy respray, for what, £8.50?

Ultimately, these paint prices are hitting the mark that CCP missed by a few hundred miles with the NEX store, so I'm not going to give them grief over it, its definitely heading in the right direction. That said, I'm a little bummed over it still being a blueprint solution, since until CCP sort out Nullsec Industry, there is going to be no way in hell I can get a free slot out in any of my home stations, so I would have to ship the hulls out into Highsec, paint em up, then ship them back into Null, which seems a little crappy.

Would you like your subscription money to pay for ship paint, or better game mechanics and better servers? Development costs money. And this is what microtransactions are for. EVERY MMO has them. However, while most allow you to buy things that make your stuff better, CCP is only selling decorations.

It's entirely whining. QQmore.

Just love you internet tough guys who can't engage in discussion without insults. But this is Eve, to be expected.

Ultimately though, this is a pilot program to see how much mileage variable-skins have. Should they decide to go into full operation on this, they clearly can't use this system much further, for many reasons. Firstly, it would hopelessly cludge up the market, since at present, every reskin is a new ship type (imagine listing a Green Rokh on the market, wondering why it isn't selling, then discovering the Red ones are all going for 5 million cheaper, but the market comparison isn't showing this because it cant compare different items). On top of that, it would render future balance passes treacherous - imagine having a dozen identical-statted ships, just with different ID's due to being distinct items, and imagine the screw up if they accidentally missed one of the colours in a balance pass. Hell, they already did exactly this with the Ishikone Watch Scorpion, as it has the stats of the pre-tiericide Scorpion as it wasn't updated when the normal one was.

Give ships a skin slot, and make reskins a module that goes in said slot. I just fixed all your problems.

I vaguely remember talk of adding a paint slot in the fitting screen if this gets developed further. It would be kind of funny if they made it a lowslot and people swap out plates or a dcu for paint.

What's better than an officer fitted ALOD ship? A painted one!

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

OMG, Paint Tank!

Works best in combination with a PLEX Tank...

I can go to Tim Horton's once for a coffee instead of Starbucks and save enough to buy 20 frigate paint jobs.

Perspective, people. Get some.

No duh. CCP has already stated that that is their intent if this goes well. It requires man hours to implement and is not a quick fix because of how ship id's work currently.

Ero: Great idea on using a low slot. I would totally gank in painted catalysts! "Why is your DPS so low?" "Style points man!"

Has been fun to read about yet I have found it to not function with a POS.

Took some ships (compressed) and BPC's to a small ship assembly array, advanced small ship
assembly array and an Equipment Assembly Array and none work.

Apparently you can't paint at a POS and no public arrays to do so are available nor mentioned.

Leave it to CCP to release something with a thunder of self kudos only to find out that it's yet another
hollow let down that doesn't work.

Hey ISD Dorrim Barstorlode, this should get a lock too. There is a dev thread to discuss this.

This is some pretty greedy **** considering your making 20 bones off plex prices right now, and 15 bones from people paying for sub's your going to charge a fee for spaceship paint? Your expansions are just barely relevant enough to be considered expansions a new ship here a new module there just give it to the player base enough of this Arurm marketplace garbage.

then don´t paint your ship.
