Why is it that warping to Dock and Alt Tabbing out delays Docking?

Can you file a bug report when this happens, please? In client, press F12, click Report Bug and fill in the details. Thanks!

Really? This hasn't been logged like a billion times by now? I figured this was just something that was accepted as a thing, since it's been happening for years.

Maybe nobody's bug reported it for that reason.

Maybe. I'm sure it's been on the forum quite a few times though, so I'd be surprised if nobody has reported it.

GMs did not reimburse it. Not that I expected them to.

I lost a dictor to this 2-3 months ago, copied the combat log where the commands were seend. (last one before being blown tho pieces was a docking comand, had to go afk after pressing dock).
The GM tried to shake me off by descriptions how docking exactly works...when i linked forum threads like this and tried to prove it looks to be a general and ongoing issue i was told they can't refund bugs and i should file a bug report....so i stopped caring.

I had a carrier sitting outside of a station for 9 hours doing this. For all the people complaining about people in nullsec docking up at the first sign of a threat, in 9 hours no one blew up my carrier.

Of course the carrier was probably thought to be bait. So nobody decided to bite.

We miners are busy people, we ain't got time for silliness such as watching a slide show side effect. More important works need doing, such as plotting the arrival of pink space ponies to the space lanes.

We are evil evil.

We gankers are also busy people, for your information. So many Evil miners, so little time... Your actions cause a butterfly effect. Here let me explain.

Your boredom derives you to Alt-Tab which tingles our "ganker senses". That tingle tells us that you aren't playing the game which you should be playing. Knowing this fact causes a chemical reaction in a gankers mind which leads to an unstoppable urge to fit a catalyst and blow you back to your medical clone station. Concord guys slack off as always and arrive late to the party. Foregone conclusion occurs. We warp our pods to safety. The ganker senses have 15 min cooldown to be triggered again. This is like a never ending process.

We are NOT evil evil.

Naw, fine without it in this instance. Especially doing it as Tippia describes.

On a side note, I used to have the same issue, but only for one character, though at some point it was resolved, but I'm not sure how.

So what you're saying is that your tactics reflect the safety of your environment and you adapt to keep yourself safe? Me too.

I bet that if you did get caught and blapped you wouldn't cry about it and whine for nerfs on the forums. Me neither.

You aren't the target audience.

Not sure if OP is saying what I think he is saying.

An example. Two accounts with a pilot in each account being played at the same time. Both pilots are in space. You go to one pilot and order him to dock in a station. You press alt key and switch to the other pilot, order him to dock at a station, and stay watching that pilot. If you don't alt tab to the first pilot then they will not dock.

If the OP meant this then the game has been like this for all the years I have played EVE Online. I just presumed it was meant to be like that as others have said.

" They're gonna feel pretty stupid when they find out. " Rick. " Find out what ? " Abraham. " They're screwing with the wrong people. " Rick. Season four.   ' The Walking Dead. ' .

Confirming this is highly annoying when it happens. Also, "file a bug report," really? The number of people who mention this occuring should be a clear indication that there is a bug. Also it's easy to replicate... Enter system, pick station, click dock, alt-tab, come back later. Hell, it even happens sometimes if you alt-tab back to the client before you've finished your warp.

Edit:

It was supposedly fixed at some point, I believe it was shortly after they made the "Jump" and "Dock" buttons warp and then complete the action (or supposed to.)

Then there is no reason not to bug-report it so it enters the QA system properly and can be tracked.

This is a well known issue that has been around for well over a year and has been bug reported multiple times and produced multiple threads in issues and workarounds.

I have reported this bug myself with a full logserver report, screenshots ect.

at the time I reported it, it was being investigated by ccp yitterburn.

What Tippia said. I want the logs when this happens and therefore I'm asking for bug reports from within the client at the time of occurance.

May have to do with exclusively alt-tabbing then, since I don't use it in windowed mode.

Bug report sent.

Didn't send screen shot as it wouldn't show anything.

While you are at it, could you please also fix the "warp to zero isn't always warp to zero" bug?
I mean, sure, you can work around it with bookmarks, but wasn't "warp to zero" introduced so that people didn't have to create tons of bookmarks for this?
