[UNITY] The Path Ahead

The camera-drone panned, locking its position onto the two figures illuminated by a small fire.
DeT Resprox watched on as his elder fanned the flames, burning embers dancing within the grey wisps as they leapt from the pile of burning wood and dried leaves.

The flowing locks of the sage blending with the greyness of the smoke and the blackness of the night - age had long worn into the man over the years, his sight now almost gone - yet the 'seer' was able to 'see' that which Resprox could not. It had been an arduous task to find the sage - the call had taken Resprox three days to reach the remote location in the Eyniletti Plains.

The man reached out and beckoned to Resprox. As Resprox neared the man, the sage grabbed his hand, pulling it to his face.

“You are troubled, Arox” said the sage. “Times have scarred you”.

Resprox's brow furrowed. He felt the mans thumb run the length of his index finger, yet Resprox did not answer and remained calm. His eyes transfixed on the mans closed eyes, watching, learning.

The sage pressed hard with his own index finger into that of Resprox's.

“Show me” said the man, his words questioning.

Resprox closed his own eyes, letting his thoughts take control. Images of his own fighting alongside the warriors of the Ushra'Khan, images of sorrow and triumph, the recent reclaiming of Evati.

Resprox's breathing slowed - his thoughts now scattered, confused. How had it come to this? Why had the strength of the Matari not fought against the Amarr incursions? There had been no....unity. Eszur, Bosboger, Amamake. So many children, men, women. Taken. Gone. Infighting with those they believed their own, now against them…..Ammatar?

Resprox felt the man press harder, a wave of calm fluxed through Resprox's body. What had happened to Silonneri Balginia, the Republic Fleet commander who called on Resprox to defend Teonusude, Frarn, Abudban against the Sansha incursion?

Silonneri's words entered Resprox's thoughts:
“I've seen you on the field, brother, and we have seen the way your kind rally our people. The Republic owes you a great debt.
Stay true, stay defiant.”

Defiant....Karishal...Reprox was there, the fight with the 7th Fleet? What of the Great Wildlands where the remaining Defiants had gone, it was here that the Ushra'Khan had settled before the Exodus! What did Silonneri mean? It was now that the seven were united after all this time.

Thoughts spun to the war, Jamyl Sarum, the coming to power - it was four years before her rule that Resprox had delcared war against house Sarum - warning that this moment would happen, yet it fell on so many deaf ears. How had it come to this?

Water sleeps......

“See” said the sage softly. The low hum of the hovering camera drone had long gone from Resprox's senses.

Thoughts switched to the tribe of Oracle, the Peoples Front of Matar and the forming of the Masuat'aa Matari. Brothers and sisters as one united under the bloody fist. The Peoples Republic of Minmatar, The Paratwa, an alliance of Matari formed by Resprox and his brothers almost ten years ago.....all of these would become the Ushra'Khan. Wars raging against the Praetorians, CVA...as it is now.

He remembered the words of Hakera:
“Freedom that must be bought by the sword and shield, by our blood and our enduring spirit. For all our ancestors are with us now, the great spirit that binds us, the spirit of the ancestors calls to us to rise to the danger and seek the unity of our people, of all Minmater.”

Resprox opened his eyes to find his forearm flushed a deep red, the tribal markings had attuned to his emotions. The sage was smiling at him knowingly. Resprox understood - he had come full circle, all this time it had been calling him, beckoning....watching - these ties that bind.....unite them. Was it instinct, something else...some greater power? Some tribal inner sense?

What seemed like minutes passing had been over an hour. The eyes of the sage remained closed as his grip was released. Resprox knew what he had to do as he reached for his battle-gown and Khumaak rested against the rock.

As he turned to face the valley he observed the four figures waiting in the backdrop - Emrys, Deliora, Reamorph and Philpip.

Without a word and with purpose, Resprox made his way towards them.  The time had come.

TRIAD have rejoined the Ushra'Khan and together have begun pushing back at the recent Amarr encroachment into our home systems. A united effort and considered strategy is required to reverse the tide of battle thast has been running against us for too long now.

Consider this a redoubling of our collective efforts. Although personally, I am now returning to my pod for the first time in nearly five months so consider anything I have to say as mere commentary until I've punched a few holes in some Amarrian warships.

To my understanding a re-unity (pun probably intended) of old U'K friends with a renewal of the purpose of killing more Amarr in Heimatar/Metropolis low security space.

Good on them, but it would be far more sincere without the involvement in the militia, which stinks of war profiteering mercenary work with less emphasis on actual military prowess and victory and more on cowardice and avarice. Perhaps more live-fire training is in order.

Couldn't he have just said that? The tl;dr post full of mystery and drug filled hallucinations wasn't needed.

...*tic tic* is this on... ah now.

I am always susprised when my old transmitter still works, i grounded this Firetail on the northen hemisphere of matar and it is unlikely it can ever make orbit again, but the transmitter still works as bad as the first day out of the sebestior repairshop :-)

...anyways, hey Det you at the helm of U'K is good news again, perhaps that unity it has long lost has now a chance to reemerge.

I always thought small and integer is better than large and corrupt.

So, in my books these are happy news.. we shall be in touch and perhaps pull a few strings.

Anything to beat a slaver in the face.

Lets meet on Deck23 and have a stff drink...

It has been a pleasure to have engaged the forces of the Ushra'Khan on the field. May you grow strong for a life lived without enemies to fight would not be a life at all.

He is Khanid. That's obvious even visually. How are the tribes his people or place of origin when he said "Khanid born"?

It's a concept specifically designed to offend Amarrians. They don't like the idea of their own switching sides and working for the Republic, and when confronted with evidence of it, some of them get upset. He loses pretty much nothing by stating it, but there's a chance it might inspire 24th Crusaders with poor anger management to make mistakes they might otherwise not.

A very slim chance, admittedly, but whatever works, right?

Andreus Ixiris > A Civire without a chin is barely a Civire at all.

Pieter Tuulinen > He'd be Civirely disadvantaged, Andreus.

Not surprising coming from a Goon. They do appreciate people with short attention spans more than the intelligent ones.

To be more specific: More concise and to-the-point would have served them better.
