Small/Med sized WH Corps - PvP Query.

Hi;

If this is written elsewhere i apologize, i have seen the "Notable WH Alliances" thread but i would imagine there are more than the ones listed.

Could i ask what you wormhole peeps consider as the really good small/medium sized WH Corps (not huge alliances).

From my limited knowledge i get the impression Aquila Inc (VOC) and Lazerhawks would fit the bill, are there any others that would consider themselves small but highly competent and able to project their power above their weight?

Protean Concept and Full Metal Junket surely would fit aswell. Hope I got those names straight.

I should really be Plugging End of Line here.. but well small size corp. I would have to point a finger toward Sin Factory.. bunch of new guys doing some pretty good things.

If you're new yourself they could be worth looking. . .

But End-Of-Line is still best... one of us, one of us (sorry i had to put that in.. of my own free will)

Sin Factory aren't exactly new in the traditional meaning of the word, being a 2009 corp with leadership from 2005.

Great to see Nathan and crew back in business, however!

:D Thanks for the shout-out, Iyokus and King Fu.

Most of us are new, but we do have a few old hands around sharing their wealth of knowledge and helping us figure out the best way to apply the skills we have. :)

Another one I recently ran into was The Amalgamation Initiative; they're a small/medium alliance build up out of a pile of smaller corps.

Illusion of Solitude is not very large. We operate a bunch of different wormholes in different timezones. Our core ideals are, "Real life is more important than Eve" and "No mandatory CTAs". I've personally found the following to be true of my IOS peers (personal opinions, not corporate or alliance-wide mandate):

* Be friendly; barring that, be entertaining.
* Be mature both in victory and defeat.
* Bring fights, even if all you can afford is a T1 frigate.
* Plan to lose everything you ever bring into a wormhole. Repeatedly.
* Don't talk in local unless you have a specific strategic objective doing so. I struggle with this one.
* Avoid drama.
* Alliance POSs in every system to encourage crashing with wormbros in other holes and trying out various alternative lifestyles (C4 Tengu blobs, C5 escalations, C2/lowsec party crashing, fleet ops, temporary-blue ops, roams, nullsec shenanigans, etc.)

The recipe mostly works. I really dig hanging out with these guys for the past year; it's varied & interesting.

Well, we were pretty small, and then we decided to form Voltron with Sky Fighters in Sky Syndicate, so... now probably not "small."

However, I will second a shameless plug for our group. You'd have a ton of fun here in the fights we get.

Satan's Unicorns should also considered here as smallscale pvp corp, with most fights beeing 2:1 or 3:1 outnumbered though.
Saying that, want to buy more honor tackle ! :D

Just that smallscale in wormholes is sooooo *meh*. There are numerous things you can do in null, especially thanks to agression timers. In wormholes with their spawn-in-scramrange-issues, you gotta hope for stupid - thankfully there's a lot of that going around.

Atleast regarding 2-4man smallscale gangs, many wh-entities list 15 still as smallscale apparently.

Size is relative. Small for W-space is 2-4 man fleets. Anything in W-space is small compared to Nullsec, and often Lowsec as well.

Most likely the small-to-medium groups you may be looking for probably aren't on the forums. They're usually a small group of friends who often came to the game together and play together. Wormhole space is literally peppered with these groups. Some fight, some don't.

The bigger groups tend to be the ones posting on the forums while the smaller groups are out there having fun.

Meh theres stuff you can do in WHs as well. Baiting people into being polarized.Kiting people off the hole before their backup shows up.

What we mostly do is just intel. Even if its a bigger force there are things you can do to counter their fleet.

Its not as simple as aggression mechanics in null but speaking as someone who hasnt flown in a gang bigger than 10 people in wh space since i moved here there are a few things you can do.

Since joining badgers I've been in a few small 5v5 fights or smaller in our static. Most recently some dude kiting us away from the hole in a crow and then suddenly two ishtars and a hurricane followed by brawling outrageous in a dictor bubble. Fun stuff like that is out there and there's tons of pew to be had in numbers of less than 10

Hehe.. I saw you guys, on my scout, in a hole just this evening. Unfortunately we didn't have 5 guys on who could fight. Wish we could would have had some dudes on to give you a fight. I especially liked the Vigilant named "About 3 PLEXs in hold", although I bet it was a scam :)
