If Eve Radio are not scamming real life cash then at there end it will be easy to prove of course.

I am only basing off information I have been provided.

Surely an entity who CCP affiliate themselves with via the time codes should have to validate the amount of real life cash they ask for from eve players on a monthly basis to continue doing what they do?

If you suspect a real life money scam, I am sure CCP will be glad to have you provide the details to them.

Bad mouthing Eve Radio (which I never listen to) in the forums based on unsubstantiated rumors will probably get you a smack of the ban hammer, and deservedly so.

Eve Radio ask for donations to keep them on air.

Surely the community has a right to see a breakdown or audit or our real life cash that they tell us is needed on a monthly basis?

No? Big smile

Well, it is good to have those things when you are donating. I do donate, but to an animal care and they do have audit published annually.

I've heard on good authority that the cream milked from donations helps pay a few rl bills.

I have made no direct allegations however.

Ignore my advice and keep donating if you so please.

If you people want to continue being scammed then so be it.

The majority of you posting in this thread more than likely don't pay cash to eve radio.

And you are going to enlighten us with all this proof you have they are scamming when exactly?

Except you haven't "proven" anyone is being scammed Lol

I can't prove anything unless Eve Radio provide a breakdown of costs.

If you apply the principles of what people say in this game about things being too good to be true then the same applies to Eve Radio surely?.

If Eve Radio says it needs x amount of rl cash a month then absent any form of proof you should believe them rite?.

But hey, i'll quintuple your isk in game, honest, just sayin'

£500 a month to run multiple servers, huge amounts of bandwidth, online 24/7, website hosting, payment for broadcast licenses, payment for software licenses. Doesn't sound ridiculous (on bandwidth costs alone to be honest), if you actually know anything about hosting and servers and broadcast on a business level. And about half of the on air ER idents say "part of the Gaming Radio network", so if you actually pay attention ER being part of GRN is not secret at all .

So.

What did they do, kick you from channel for being an arse?

Or are you just another New Eden Radio troll taking underhanded shots at the competition - if anyone brings EULA to the table they do with recycled alts auto piloting round systems broadcasting local channel spam (Dodixie gets flooded by their DJ's as well) and wardecs from fanbois against anyone who complains about it.

The greater radio network you like to talk about is the Gaming Radio Network, it only holds EVE-Radio and Subspace radio currently, a few years ago they had other stations for other games but thats in the past now. And they dont hide this its talked about alot.

When they are running a big beefy server able to broadcast, a jukebox server constantly, and when a DJ is on 3 different qualities of stream. And this is for both stations, the processing power is getting up here. They have the websites to look at aswell, and I believe they also have a video streaming service running on those servers, but that was also abit ago. Also on top they have the rewind, which hosts all the shows for a month if your a subscriber.

Not to mention all the licenses you need to pay for to actually stream the music, thats where alot of the money probally goes.

So atm you just seem to be wanting to troll on a fansite that's been around since EVE Beta, and was a hand in creating the Alliance Tournament, and gives alot back to the community when the DJ's arnt paid.

I think I also remember from awhile ago someone saying that the money they ask for is actually only half of their actual costs, the guy thats been paying for it for the last 10+ years has been covering about half of the running costs to keep the station alive.

Just to say im just a long term listener of EVE-Radio

I don't even listen to EVE Radio, but is there like, proof of this happening? Even if it would turn out to be a scam, blind accusations just because someone thinks wrong, is in my opinion inexcusable too.

All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me.

Might come in handy!

I donate 4 dollars a month... it's 4 dollars I don't care about parting with. I don't even have to pay them to listen to the stream, I choose too. As long as they keep streaming, I don't care wether or not ER reaches(or really needs) it's monthly donation amount. If they stop streaming I'll stop giving money, simple.

I have considered the input provided in this thread so far, and it is an interesting thought you had.
However there are 2 Rule Violations I cannot ignore.

Quote:
19. All posts must be related to EVE Online.

Posts regarding other companies and products or services are prohibited and any content of this nature will be removed. Posts regarding other games are however permitted on the Out of Pod Experience forum for the purposes of discussion only.

31. Rumor mongering is prohibited.

Rumor threads and posts which are based off no actual solid information and are designed to either troll or annoy other users will be locked and removed. These kinds of threads and posts are detrimental to the wellbeing and spirit of the EVE Online Community, and can create undue panic among forum users, as well as adding to the workload of our moderators.

Eve Radio is a company that provides a service to it's listeners.
If you have an issue with the way they do business you would need to lodge a complaint with them.

I see no EULA Violations with their service.
You do not have to be in eve to listen and they do not use Eve to do business.

If you have evidence you believe is compelling enough, you should report it to CCP through the Petition System under the EULA & Terms of Servive Section.

It is kind of a "scam", but it's also alright. Most times people ask for donations - be it ISK or out-of-game resources - they will be keeping a share of it for themselves.

For many it will be just a few %, for others a larger chunk.

Within the realm of EVE and the EVE community, I do not have a problem with this. People choose to give him money for his site, he can choose to keep most of it if he pleases. They don't have to donate if they aren't satisfied with the evidence he provides of it's proper use.

Op is a troll alt that was created specifically to troll Erotica 1 back before he got banned. He is clearly starting a witch hunt against Eve Radio for displaying Erotica in a semi-positive light and being critical of Ripard Teg.

After seeing the lack of argument/proof from the OP.........also, your tinfoil hat is slanted.

I know a DJ IRL.......(Go Hangedman!) I've also been on a few dozen shows.

These people ask for what, $500/month for Maintenance, ISP fees, Prizes,. Not to mention that each and every DJ has to pay for these out of their own pocket (client side), and on top of that they donate their time and Money to pay for the music to play to the audience... For free!

**** it!

If they are "Scamming" as you claim. $500 split between.......exactly how many people? Oh totally worth it!

Now what? You'll say that its one guy scamming everyone including the DJs for what? $500/month!

Dude, whatever drug you're on, pass it to the rest of us!
