i still see we're having to pick 14 of... like 15 candidates, and do it using that god awful interface of dragging and dropping.

can we not just have a proper voting system, you know, i click the 1 guy i want (not 1 guy and 13 people i don't want) then click vote?

you know, nice easy 2 clicks rather than nearly 30 for this horrible system.

You can certainly vote for 1 person, just don't fill the other slots. A vote for one person using Single Transferable Vote is just as effective as voting for one person in First Past the Post (the election system you described). If the candidate needs your vote to make top 14, then it will be used, and if they cannot make it or have significantly more than they need, then the single vote is largely inconsequential, just like in First Past the Post.

First Past the Post is actually one of the worst voting systems commonly in use today. I encourage you to check out what are thought to be the standard Voting System Criterion, and realize that a lot of thought went into a move to an STV voting system.

STV is only slightly more complex, and still allows you to vote for only one candidate. We are all EVE players here, I think we can handle a little additional complexity in return for huge benefits.

Last year people made auto populating bookmarks and hyperlinks which would auto choose candidates for you with 0 interaction.

That's why the drag and drop interface (forcing human interaction)

Edit: whelp seems you can rech pose candidates on multiple accounts.. Though I don't see it as much of an issue (you have 20 accounts probably going to choose the same people).

Yaay!!!!

lolno

fas·cism [fash-iz-uhm]
noun
( sometimes initial capital letter ) a governmental system led by a dictator having complete power, forcibly suppressing opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism and often racism.

so·cial·ism [soh-shuh-liz-uhm]
noun
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.

Whilst not mutually exclusive (as neither is Capitalism), one is most certainly NOT a form of the other

Fox News viewer spotted.

EVE is a game about spaceships and there's an enormous amount of work to do on the in-space gameplay before players (or developers) are ready to sacrifice it for a totally new type of gameplay - CCP Rise

With the right people on the CSM they can help CCP bring you a better game for your money.

Many companies have 'customer focus groups' to help them develop their product by giving them structured feedback.

CCP has taken this one step further by allowing their customers to propose what other customers they think should be members in that group.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

Thanks, CCP. Votes now registered.

The drag and drop voting mechanism works very nicely (as a first time voter, I don't know if this is how it always works).

I look forward to seeing the results.

For those of you asking why you should vote; You can't complain about changes that negatively affect you if you don't try and elect a candidate that will represent your views to CCP and fight for your stlye of gameplay.

They didn't stop CCP from nerfing pretty much every ship in the game. To call it rebalancing is a farce.

If I only had a year in, I'd have quit already. But with 5 years in I'll stick around awhile. But if I ever decide to quit, I'm not gonna cry on the forums. I will biomass my 10 toons with all the ISK and assets...

So nerfing means that there is more viable ships and fits to choose from than there have been in the last 5 years?
