Okay don't flame now I'm kidding.

But recently I've talked with some mates about ammos in the game.
How much munitions do you really uses ?

I don't think that a lot of different ammo types is a bad thing, but I think that they must be usefull.
Is there any plans for revamping the muns like CCP revamps the ships ?

T II muns are okay (because there's not many), but why do you have only to choose between DPS or less DPS ?
With bombs and othe s**t there's lots of ammo types that CCP didn't explore at all like ...

Did someone ever comes here with an idea of *new* ammos ?
Webbing muns ? light DPS but Web for x seconds at x%.
Warp Disrupt ammos ? light DPS but disrupt the ship for x seconds.
Mines ?
Something reaaly cool and way better than my poor ideas ? Big smile

I think that there's tons of thing to improve gameplay exeprience by rethinking ammos in Eve Online ... Am i the only one ?

Ammo should get a re balancing, however I do not thing that "Web" or point ammo is a good idea at all. Mines (limited to Null) would be a cool addition though.

Mines would be a re-addition to the game.

And a horrible, yet hilarious one.

A lot of people start new topics while drunk.

Or at least that's how it seems.

Drunk ammo! Shoot tequila bottles at your opponents ships to get them drunk and give them side effects... Like anti-boosters.

Very briefly like 2003 or 2004. IIRC they were taken out due to them causing lag, and the fact that you couldn't jump through a gate without insta-exploding.

lags...it would be like having a hundred missiles in a system...forever. or back to having book marks all over the place.

and there are some under used ammo's, but hell no to web and point ammo. and even though the inferno trailer seems to have bumping physics on missiles, no to that too.

EVE FAQ "7.2 CAN I AVOID PVP COMPLETELY? No; there are no systems or locations in New Eden where PvP may be completely avoided"

BUT IMAGINE the anti-frigate effect of the Phoenix if being near one of its missiles exploding bumped you away in the opposite direction at like 3-10km/s

would be hilarious for splitting up fleets, frigs being thrown thousands of kilometers, battleships thrown for maybe a few hundred to a thousand.

breaking up the blobs, literally, one splosion at a time

I did'nt say that's a good idea, just ideas, but it seems to me that having only choices between DPS and DPS isn't really a choice, the wast majority of ammos were underused ... when they're used, and I used to think that it's sad. What?

but.. but.. that's not the choice at all. There's range, damage types, tracking ammo.

Damage Types ? only for projectile and missiles, and even with that kind of choices, you don't really use all kind of ammo, mostly 2 or 3 different. Same thing for range, you generally use ammos that fit in your scramble/disrupt range to be effective, or you're sniping, so that's 2 or 3 different ammos.

I thought that it was because people were getting CONCORDed from a mine that they left in NS whilst they were in HS.

I don't agree with all OP ideas, but there is indeed problem with munition. Except for those with various damage type, how many different munition type are really used? If you look at the t1 hybrid (or rather there faction equivalent), half of them are useless. Currently it is range vs dps. Maybe instead of having 10 different munition for various ratio between the two, we could have more parameters we can decide on (tracking, alpha, rof, range, overheat etc...).

Do I want the short range high dps one or the short range high tracking one?
Do I want the long range alpha one or the long range capa savy one?

That's just example, I am sure CCP could come with combination that makes some sense.

For a second I thought you were serious about removing ammo. Will you please never suggest anything like that again. You scared me P
