for the love of god make illegal goods, killrights and shares contractable, also there was a suggestion for pirate logs to lead to escalations, please do look it up its a great idea.

Currently when entering a name for a private contract I must re-confirm my alt (via the character search) each time because their name is a subset of a few other characters.

I have him added to my contacts, so I think if a typed name matches a contact(possibly with good standing?) it should auto complete that one character without having to double click or click and OK to specify the character each time.

Edit- I suppose this could also be expanded to corp names as well.

Biggest pain points:
When typing names in the private field, even if the exact name is typed/pasted, it still asks you to select the name from a popup with an unreal amount of variations of those names. It would be nice if that popup didn't happen if there is an exact match for the name.

Second biggest issue, after typing in name in private field, "Enter" key should take you to the next step.

Please bring back freeform and loan contracts. Loan contracts especially were very useful for corp management.

Scamming really isn't an issue, but could you please streamline the interface, especially the crazy number of windows and clicks one has to endure to finally finish a contract?
THIS, and this alone.

And once you figure it out, do the same for manufacturing. There has to be some way to remove a few of the clicks/windows for both processes.

My ideas are copies of what others have already said, but if you're counting occurrences of the same idea as votes, here are mine.

I would like the ability to create multiple contracts from one template. Our ship builders have a very dull time creating contract after contract of identical ships. They should be able to say "make 20 of these" and as long as the supplies are available, 20 contracts are created.

I'd like to be able to set up contracts from inside containers, including from my current ship. When our fleet docks up after a roam and I have to contract loot to someone, I'd like to be able to do it from my ship's cargo and not have to worry about about losing the items in my hanger. And yes, I use station containers, but not everything is always neatly tucked away.

The contract listing should show the description in a column - it's a critical piece of information and you currently have it hidden in a mouseover tooltip. [Multiple items] is not helpful.

Get rid of the weird grey box showing the contents.

Instead use a streamlined EFT text style, like this:

how about a small version of eve fitting window with tool tips? and drone bay and cargo can be opened/viewed by clicking on the same places u would the fitting window.

- a thousand times +1 to making 'x' number of identical contracts.

- +1 to not always needing to go through a search list for recipient. i even dragged and dropped someone into my contract, and i still had to find him in a drop down list.

- let me drag an drop items into the 'request items from buyer' as well.

- can my corp make contracts between its own wallets? would help track the transfer of items and money within a corp.

- contracts available by standing

P.S.

scamming is not an issue. dont need extra protection against.

Im sure someone has already mentioned it but please remove the pointless drug ban from contracts. Maybe add a warning in its place if its important.

It's not exactly pointless. It's there so that drugs do not get included in courier contracts. If they could separate courier from item exchange contracts then it would make sense to remove the ban.

A single window contract creation screen would be much better than the current 5-6 window format.

  • All information is to be entered on one screen. That includes contract types, routes, recipients, prices, and names/descriptions.
  • A drag and drop "contract inventory" would be more user friendly than the long-loading list format currently used. Cluttered hangars suffer long load times when creating a contract. Using an empty drag-and-drop window would remove the load times completely for new contracts.
  • "Contract Inventory" could also dynamically disallow drag-and-drop of inappropriate items such as ships with cargo, contraband, or other invalid items, removing the need for an error window when attempting to finalize.
  • Remove pop-up message boxes from the contract screen finalization. Pop-up windows where the only option is to click "OK" are poor UI design.
  • Merge the final confirmation box into the creation window itself. Until all required fields are filled out, the "Finalize" button is grayed out, leaving only the "Cancel" option. Upon clicking "Finalize", the same window will ask you to confirm it by clicking the new "Confirm" button nearby. Editing of the contract is still available during "Confirm" mode, but editing any values or inventory will revert the contract back to the previous "Finalize" stage.

Just my ideas. I'm no UI designer. I just believe in more flexible single-window systems, rather than pop-up or new window spam.

  • Definitely the ability to setup multiple contracts at once.

  • Also, the ability to setup more alliance contracts. Right now, we can setup 500 to our corp with no skills, but only 21 to alliance with max skills.

  • Alliance contracts, either as an individual or corp shouldn't be considered 'public' contracts and shouldn't be taken out of the contracts I can setup publicly.

  • If I'm contracting in the station I'm currently sitting in, I definately should be able to drag and drop items into the contract, instead of picking from a list.

  • And, some sort of 'quick contract' that's between a trade and a contract would be super. I'm always trying to contract friends and corpies loot when they're not docked or online, and it's such a pain. I just want to right click their name, start a contract, drag items from my hanger OR cargo hold, specify a price (if desired) and click a button to be done.

On the 'My Contracts' tab

I want to see a column for price, and for description. In fact, a lot more options for columns for querying my own contracts would be nice with options for configuring which ones I want to show at any given time.

There's a lot of redundant information on this page. For example, I specify in a drop down that I want to view "Finished" contracts, and then there is a status column where "Finished" shows up next to each contract in the results.

The ability to filter or search the results. For example, if I want to see every contract that involved a "Thrasher"

Sorting by 'From' or 'to' doesn't seem to work on the grid.

An 'all' option for Status filtering. Say I setup 20 courier contracts. I want to view all 20 and see which ones are complete, which are outstanding, which are in progress...etc.

Yes, this. A link to the fit instead of a long list as if the items were simply in a container.

  • Longer expiration dates on contracts. The short durations have value but there's little reason I can see why extending available times to match the market shouldn't happen.

  • Also the ability to simply renew a contract once it's expired, instead of having to delete it and create it again from scratch.

I've been waiting on this for a while!!

There have been a few good suggestions, but there are a few things that have always bothered me:

    1. Large "Asks" contracts; for example if I want to make a contract that asks for a lot of items (say, more then 10), it is effectively impossible to do so. Could there be some sort of copy/paste functionality so I can copy tab-spaced data from excel to a big list?

    2. Not being able to see what I put inside of courier contracts. Its scary when someone drops your shipment and your not sure you lost money or not...

    3. NOT HAVING EXACT STACKS! This one is a pain; from what I've found, if I have a contract for 100 tritanium, and I have 200 tritanium in station, I am not able to complete that contract without unstacking that tritanium. Generally, a PITA for large ask contracts.

    4. Courier contracts to the same station. Why? It makes a great way to "rent" ships!

    tl;dr fix "asks" contracts!

It's probably already been asked for, but once again doesn't hurt:

Courier contracts need to have a way too look inside to see what you are going to transport before you are going to transport it.

You see contract contents in Item Exchanges and Auctions, you can cargo scan ships and objects and can look into containers/cargoholds/plastic wraps - so there is no real reason not to be able to look into plastic wraps in the contract window.
Unless posted in one of the respective channels and talked about/have linked a appraisal - and even then -. Courier contracts are usually a lottery and contractors have no way to figure out whether the contract is a legit contract or a scam (unless very obviously leading to certain systems) until it is too late. Putting haulers into such a huge unfair position should not be accepted any longer.

To leapfrog the outcry of the scammers and trappers out there: these activities are not made impossible with giving Courier takers the opportunity to see what they transport; it is merely put in line with the difficulty demanded from the haulers by the scammers and trappers. We should put a lot of effort into keeping our tools safe, and so should they in setting up their scams and traps - they need to put in effort and creativity and not just empty cans.

Something I would also like to see decoupled from one another is the filters, in particular the range selection filter. I very often look for contracts (Item Exchange and Auctions) in the entire universe, ie. I leave the setting on All Regions or Current Region; but when I do Courier contracts I only look up a specific system or constellation and leave the setting to Current Constellation or Current System. As it is now, I constantly have to adjust these settings, which is unnecessarily cumbersome.

    More filters!

I would love to have more options, for example

'Mark contracts that contain X parameter, but not hide them' and then a separate option to hide them completely

Let me filter contracts by ships with rigs fitted, so i can see or not see those contracts.

Let me make a list of items and have it show contracts only containing that item.

    Just more filters!! <3
