I still say, given what the OP has told us, that the Typhoon fits the bill.

Unless I was terribly mistaken, I think the OP was asking about armor tanking, not what ship he should or shouldn't fly. Mention of the Sacrilige seemed a bit side-bar, but I could be wrong.....

Yes and no, the initial question is easily answered (and was, of course) and just because he didn't actively ask about his ship choice, but mentioned it any way, that became the next point of discussion because it's a far more important question. He didn't get the replies he asked for, but the ones he deserved.

I can fly any HAC and if you want armor for pve i suggest the Ishtar. I live in low sec (blood space) and i run 90% of the pve here (lvl4s and combat sites) without problems at all. I don't bother with lvl5s and some sites like that complex in Genesis (i don't remember the name).

I have an alt and she can fly the Guardian but i prefer to have her in the Falcon for scouting and all that. I like the Ishtar because it has good dps at long range, decent tank (excellent for guristas and serpentis) and obviously the agility of a cruiser.

This is my fit and probably others won't like it but i don't care because for me it is perfect. Ishtar of my heart for Blood:

Highs-

Probe launcher.
Small remote repper
Small T2 laser. Why T2? meh, because i can. Loaded with ultraviolet so i don't need ammo.

Mids-

100MN AB II. Yes, you can fit it. No implants required.
Cap Recharger II x2
Omnidirectional II x2

Lows-

Medium Armor Rep II
EM hardener II
DDA II x3

Rigs-

Nano pump II
Accelerator II

Dones-

Curator II
Garde II
Hammerhead II
Hobgoblin II

I don't use heavies, so i fill the rest of the bay with more small drones, ecm and all that. If i need more tank i remove a DDA and fit another hardener. I have all the core skills to V, and good drone skills too (Drone interfacing V included).

If you can't take the heat, just burn away with the AB and pew pew from 90-100 kms with Curators.
