Frequency Crystal Reloading

I tried the search function but came up flat so I'm going to ask. Has there ever been any talk about fixing the way that crystals reload themselves in laser weapons? I find it extremely frustrating to have to ungroup my guns every time I burn through a crystal and have less than 4 new in my hold. Why do my guns care which crystals have been loaded before or not? Why doesn't it just grab another crystal of the same type?

Ammo counts have to match throughout the group. So partially used crystals won't usually match up unless you only reuse sets you grouped together from purchase.

Add a reload time so the gun crews have time to figure out which one needs a new crystal.

How do you even manage to burn one crystal and not the rest?

Faction frequency crystals have 1 HP and take 0.00025 damage every time they're fired (they last 1 / .00025 = 4,000 shots). T2 frequency crystals have 1 HP and have a 10% chance per shot of taking 0.01 HP damage (average 0.001 HP per shot, so lasting 1 / 0.001 = 1,000 shots average).

Since the T2 crystals don't take that damage every shot, chances are pretty good they won't all burn out on the same shot. If you use faction crystals properly though, they should all burn out at the same time.
