In many of my travels through Hisec, I have seen an alarming number of cans that looks like they need some loving. So many especially in Gallente and Caldari space, and everytime I go by one it begs for me to stop and check them out.

WHY is there such an extraordinary large numbers of these homeless cans scattered about?? I am sure there must be a reason but alas I can't for the life of me why such growth be allowed to run rampant in large numbers...

Unsuccesful had a can. E I E I O.

And on that can he wrote "probably because salvaging wrecks on gate doesn't get you suspect but looting wrecks does therefore you just leave the can that shows up after the wreck is salvaged" E I E I O.

Unless youre talking about anchored cans people use fro corp adverts because the recruiting interface is horrible... E I E I O.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Why would you even have cans enabled in your overview? Jet cans are fine. Unsecure cans you can scoop is acceptable.

But the OP is talking secure cans, if I'm not mistaken. There is no reason to ever have them enabled in the UI. If you don't see them, they wouldn't bother you. If they didn't bother you, there wouldn't be this thread.

Causality in action.

Unattended cans get cleaned up automatically every so often.

You should have seen things many years ago before this was true. You could not get within one KM of any asteroid belt as anchored cans greatly outnumbered the asteroids in just about every high-sec system back then.

Agreed. The can situation today is nothing like before... anyone who remembers highsec belt can fields isn't going to see any can problem at all, today.

HAHAHAHA!! Well, I wasn't complaining at all, it's just...it's just that I feel sorry for the cans, all alone out there, not having nobody to go home to, or much worse, not being loved, being unappreciated for the way they been mistreated, relegated to a life that wasn't their choosing......

I can hear their screams.
Echoing through the heavens.
I know those cans can't.

Maybe you can start a home for wayward cans.

Someone once did that for abandoned drones.

and corpses.

and homeless.

and exotic dancers...

All the more reason that everything from cans to POS towers & structures should be on self-destruct timers, and given the proliferation as seen over the past few months with cans and deployables specifically, much shorter timers on the really small stuff wouldn't go wrong either.

More than horrible.

Not only is it a pain to use, it's effectively an advertisement to all of New Eden to wardec your corp if you aren't specifically PVP oriented.

I think the CONCORD signs should show a short ad that shows a Titan shooting the cans with huge red letters "KEEP IT CLEAN" to prevent people throwing litter in the middle of space.

I like this idea. The signs need more stuff to watch on them.

I envision a future where pilots are parked up in front of the signs, like cars at an old drive-in movie, watching the latest tournament streams while waiting for juicy industrials filled with implants to jump through the gate.

On a serious note though, Mobile Depots should cost 10m or so to build, then this spam would not be as prolific. Cheap MDs that aren't as enduring would then be fine to add in.

After much consultation and study of 'Old MacDonald had a Farm', linguistic researchers have determined that 'E-I-E-I-O' is, in fact, a gross misspelling of the word 'farm'.
