Why is it even possible to instalock a Ceptor?

As soon as I saw the title of the thread I thought "someone died in a 'ceptor and is mad about it'. Am I right?

Yes, cause a ceptor is going to wait the 10 secs it takes to explode...right?

What? Are you *snerk* firing AFTER hes come through the gate? Lol

I thought they were supposed to be hard to lock.

Remote Sebos need to go.

I like to do nullsec runs in a triple-stabbed intie and let me tell you, it's more fun than crank calling old people.

There's one system where they got a seboed intie that instalocks. I know what they are doing. They got a cloaked scout on the other side of the gate and the tackler has an overview setting for any ship not in fleet/corp that appears, so he's hovering the mouse over where my ship will appear the instant it does, and he's got artie and warp scram ready to go.

And I fly away saying "FAIL" in local. Twisted

The warp scramble and the artie goes off at the same time, but also being rigged for agility helps too - no damage. But the artie on an intie or any turret is nothing more than horing into the killmail. "Gotta get muh stats ahm so leet"

When I check the killboard of the corp that camps that one particular gate (the one that sits there all day and does not catch me - am I PVP right?) they do have a lot of interceptors. It's a basic nullsec "kill everything that moves" bubble camp but they obviously had to adapt with the seboed intie to get their kills.

The solution is to adapt with stabs. An intie with stabs is almost invincible. Any other ship outside of a nullifying T3 is going to get into a suck bubble and you get to watch it die with 20 webs on it 70 KM from the gate. The bubble immunity is what makes stabs actually useful in nullsec.

I say almost because given enough warning (having their bots dock up, having to push their fat girlfriends off their lap and check the intel channels...) means a disco BS on a gate and an intie will die to that.

But in my tests I have found that an interceptor rigged for agility and some extra warp speed (or even some implants for warp speed) will actually move through systems fast enough that if you keep moving you will be way past their assets before they can position one. The time it takes to ALT-TAB to the Eve client from whatever other game they are playing and get a disco BS in place to catch you, lacking knowledge of where you might be going, you are long gone. Just keep moving! The best way to survive a kill zone is to get out of it.

For the record, I'm not 100% serious, just a little annoyed cause I had to go buy a 4m isk blueprint again :P

Yea, see this is the effect of giving interceptors nullification when they could already easily avoid/escape bubbles with proper piloting better than pretty much all other ships.

They can already avoid instalocking camps better than all other ships, but you might as well try to get some anti-instalocking feature built in their hull, since CCP bizarrely took up the nullification idea, why not.

Weve all fit remote sebos and boosted the guy who has the lowest latency (we swear he lives either in or right next to the servers), he drank some quafe and we threw up some links, and he was implanted to **** while sporting a sebo boosted interceptor with lock time rigs.

Even travel fit ceptors have a hard time escaping.

Working as intended.

As posted above, please show us on the ship doll where those ebil gatecampers touched you.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Now the term "anatomically correct ship model" comes to mind and I'm ashamed for thinking about it. Oops

Interceptors are not some magical exception to the rules.

Theoretically, if a ship can align below 1 second, then it should be impossible to lock.
