OP is clearly playing a deeper game than any of us thought. I am impressed.

Sorry I forgot that it might look like that to those of you outside the the Isle of the Damned.

That just looks like a regular trap to me

That's misleading , everyone knows the leprechauns died out in the famine.

Whilst I'm not a massive fan of being ganked (and I'm terrible at ganking - as the kill rights against me still stand) I find myself massively amused at the level of dedication the CODE peeps bring to the game and ideals of James 315.

Love it or hate it, it is making people play better and forcing them ever so slowly to look after their ships.

As an aside, after spending the good part of a year in a WH and in null, I am disgusted by some of the vitriolic mails sent from Hi Sec pilots because of the loss of a ship. Self confessed care-bearism as it is, I simply cannot fathom how people get so emotionally attached - threatening actual violence and hoping people kill themselves? Wake up and smell the *insert taurine based drink of choice here*

Frightening to say the least.

Absentee landlords raised the rent at a time of blighted crops failing, the slowest, laziest form of ethnic cleansing the world has ever seen. Sure there's no sound a healthy child can make that will annoy you once you've heard a sick child starving.
But still, highsec, leave it alone errybody.

Market forces, and the Indian Famines were far worse.

I was idling in a smartbomb Typhoon off the Perimeter gate one morning and my fingers slipped, causing all my highslots to be activated. Needless to say there were some shocking losses, not least among autopiloting pods loaded with hundreds of millions of isk worth of implants. I lost my 'phoon to fear crazed fuzz it was horrendous.
The mails from one innocent bystander went on for a couple days, calling me a nullsec outcast, which was a hoot, and explaining in no uncertain terms that his loss was no big deal since he owned a high end WH, blah blah, the gist was i was a loser and he was somehow a winner.
My point is i've found rage, butthurtz and obscenities everywhere, from every type of player, this picking on highsec miners is easy kills by slow kids. Docking up in sov null and smacking a WH gang, thereby earning 300m in bounties from their frustration, blopsing ninja PVErs in NPC null, luring faction cruisers into too much dps: all of these are the grown up version but involve *risk*.
No amount of highsec villainy is ever gonna be anything more than: highsec villainy. Ew.

Why is highsec so hated lol

It's not that it is hated, it is just that certain groups of players believe that the playstyle of another should not be allowed in what is considered a PVP only game...in their eyes. So they blog, they complain, they gank to prove that their playstyle is the only one that should exist and people who do not wish to partake in their way are considered "bot-aspirants".

The sandbox environment allows all playstyles to exist within the confines of the game...which CCP actively encourages.

Unfortunately the Code-aspirants believe that be demonising and portraying miners as being evil, it makes their "cause" more righteous.

Play the game as you see fit and enjoy what this game can offer.

Cheers,

AA

OMFG! I don't understand how people don't 'get it' yet.

'The Code' does not demonize miners. It targets players that think that they can turn the game on, set to task whatever they are doing, go AFK for some lunch or do laundry or go to the store for some smokes and come back to the keyboard and collect profit.

Those days are done. James 315 is the Savior of Hi-Sec. Long live The Code.

Quick! Jump on Sisi and see how quickly you get flat out bored. I first used it to work out POS details, then practise stealth bomber moves. Generally though, unless it's some corp/alliance lol-tournament or actually testing something, the lack of risk shows how crazy dull EvE is without those terrible other people.
The sad subset of players who love to mess with others, but only if those others are fish in a barrel, are more a pox on the game than any afk miner or arrogant publord mission runner. 5 years mining in highsec and never even heard of spodumain? OK that's tragic...but months of harassing that guy and acting all RP satanic and slimy about it? Kid needs help and a permaban.

Came here expecting to jump on a "We hate the CODE" bandwagon. Left after bookmarking the minerbumping site. It is a very well done and amusing site. Love them or hate them, the CODE guys make the game interesting, and even manage a bit of miner darwinism too.

Keep it up guys :)

Same. You really don't get a sense of 'proper' play from the tutorials. My eyeballs are always dscan -> overview -> target -> overview -> dscan -> cap -> alignment -> velocity -> drones and then cycle again.

For me, lowsec and null play also has changed hisec for me. I just assume that hisec is more or like these other areas with my paranoia button set to red.

Not sure if anybody else notices, but that faceless alt has quite a few rings in his style of writing that make him sound like erotica 1.

Probably just a huge coincidence that his thread is about one of eroticas most favourite topics too.

Ban OP, gas thread.

Use a proper ship for disco and not a typhoon.

Smartbombs start off your collision bubble, which you can look up by 3d viewing the ship.

The long axis in m.

The higher this amount, the more range you have.

A proper disco ship would be an hyperion or one of the huge amarrian ones.

There's really no excuse for using a typhoon.

Flattered, but Ero lost all of his accounts.
Is it even possible to get a faceless alt with a brand new account?
Pretty sure its a relic of pre-Incarna.

So I must be a faceless alt of.......somebody else.

Unless I was sold recently to Ero.

Hmmmm. Maybe I am? But I thought Ero was a James 315 alt. So confused.

As much as I love the minerbumping page, it's been outdone in recent weeks by some of the content on Feyd (can't think of his last name)'s blog.

The story of him probing down a mission runner's Talos and killing it with a battle Venture was pure gold. And his kill-it-forward project has led to me getting active in ganking miners again.

Thanks Sabriz, surely everyone from CODE and Kill-It-Forward is doing the LORDS's work during these troubled times.
