This fit, and thread, is not intended for PvE at all, I figured the use of a scram and lack of active tank would have made that obvious.

The idea of soloing in one of these I find about as attractive as letting maple syrup sun dry on my genitals.

these bc's are not pve ships - lack of drones should tell you that :). But a gang with 10 of these and a few logi should be a scary sighting. I'm thinking close to 1000 DPS per ship , and enough speed to catch any tier 1 or 2 BC and probably most battleships too.

I wouldn't solo in this either, think more along the lines of their intended use, countering BS / drake blobs and taking down capitals, likely with logi support.

You mean replacing one blob with another? The king is dead, long live the king.

Talos has drones but yeah, still not meant for PVE. Talos can push well above 1000 DPS. A balanced fit hits around 1100 DPS, a full glass cannon fit goes a crazy 1500DPS. For a battleship, if one gets under your guns, you're done.

This is I think pretty much the fit that will be the gold standard for Talos's. Only things you need to do are upgrade to t2 Microwarp, lose the AB for a dual Webber setup ( if you get caught long enough to need the AB, you're dead anyway), and let the rapey fun time begin.

Also, since now you are running dual webs plus the tracking rig, switch to Void ammo for MOAR damage, also with the new stats you will have better optimal range than with Navy, while just taking somewhat of a hit to falloff.

Ships in EVE are more effective in groups. Creating a new ship isn't going to change that axiom. Pointing this out is a bit like pointing out that the supercap changes won't make lvl 4's easier.

Honestly I think that kind of fit is just counter-intuitive for this ship. You're sacrificing damage/tracking in the rigs for armor HP on a ship that starts with "low" armor HP at best. The best bet is to fit for damage, overheat everything, and hope you can melt them before taking damage becomes a problem.

Lets say you have this ship fit like yours and run across a drake or a plated brutix. You're only hope with either is to just hit them in the face with as much damage as possible, because if you try to have EHP, they are still going to have exponentially more than you in every case, you can't afford to sacrifice the extra damage potential. 800mm plate + DMG Ctrl + EANM II is like the maximum tank you should have. I would almost say lose the EANM for another Mag Stab.

however, do tell me if there's any reason to use a talos over a Naga.

or an Oracle.

or a Tornado.

Tracking issues. The point is to stay under an enemy battleship's tracking while still being able to track them with your own battleship sized guns. Yes that implies getting in close, possibly even in web range, but thats what the AB is for. The Naga ends up having a dangerously higher sig radius with an extender + rigs which makes finding the sweet spot for tracking that much harder.

When it comes to taking down caps, its about DPS, DPS, and DPS and a low sig radius to avoid death from bombs.

Think Intended Role, not how long will I last in a 1v1 slugfest in Asteroid Belt 1.

EXAMPLE: Ever lived in 0.0? Seen a Maelstrom or Abaddon blob? Talos + logistics = problem solved.

Regardless, this is a Talos fit thread, please take the "why not just use x instead" rabble elsewhere.

A gang with ten of these with logi's to catch BC or battleships??????? And against 10 BS with logi's?

Luls. Alpha fleets vs Talos will be very amusing. You have to survive long enough for an armour logi's reps to cyclee on you once you get called primary.

Second, I would hate to take this up against a neut domi. No cap = no AB = no guns + 5 bonused Ogre IIs + no tank = ROFL.

You have a battle chubby for the Talos vs BS's which is undeserved. The Talos will excel as a cruiser and BC killer, where that web bonus can really start to bite. The way hybrids have been bufffed, a BC with AB under a T2 web will only be orbiting at 100m/s or less. You do not want to be hiding behind an 800mm plate facing offf against a Maelstrom, girlfriend.

There is no web bonus. Damage and tracking now. It's been that way for weeks.
