My PVP experience prior to joining 0UCH consisted of getting ganked while making jump clones with Estel Arador and getting ganked again while trying to move into Sendaya.

Since joining 0UCH, I've adapted to null sec, and I treat everywhere like I treat nullsec: as a place of constant dangers that are largely avoidable, once you know the tricks.

Things I've learned: how to make the right bookmarks. Using D-Scan offensively and defensively. How to fly tackle and do so within a doctrine that helps ease students into combat. Classes are very personal and include practical exercises.

One of the hallmarks of the program is the nullsec roam. Show you have learned what you've been taught by taking a prescribed journey through a populated area of Curse without losing your ship.

I'll be honest: when I first saw five large bubbles and multiple interdictors waiting for me on the other side of a gate, I freaked. But then I took a deep breath, figured out a plan, and made it out alive. I knew I had options. 0UCH showed me what they were.

0UCH doesn't teach you to throw ships away. You will learn from other pilots during combat which fights certain doctrines can take and which ones they can't. There's no shame in running from an unwinnable fight; you don't owe a superior force anything.

"Kill more. Die less." That's what it's all about.

Join the OUCH-UNI channel in game to learn more. If you intend to move to nullsec, you have no idea how much this free training will help you.

8 OUCH instructors will be at Fanfest this year. I'm pretty excited.

A little uncertain of what the inside of an Icelandic jail might be like, but it can't be as hard as flying through Curse, right? Smile

Okay. We running amok at Fanfest and we're having a blast! Definitely an experience I'd recommend.

Course, my wallet is significantly lighter after 2.5 days here.

20 bucks for a burger and fries. Unbelievable.

If you're gonna do Iceland, be prepared to break open your piggy bank.

Took me two days to get over the jet lag coming back from Iceland. Holy crap. Shocked

But I'm back and OUCH is still up an running. Training 3 to 4 times a week. Getting new players into null sec.

Making people cry in Local. Twisted

If you're looking to get your feet wet in low sec and null, we're a good place to start.

Since I have come back from Iceland, I've probably spent 80 percent of my time talking to players, young and old, about what OUCH really does.

People look at our killboard and mistake us for a PvP corp. We're not. We're a training corp. We teach null sec survival and basic combat piloting to new and inexperienced players.

We're just a bunch of guys and gals who enjoy taking what we've learned and passing it along.

Don't get me wrong, we like killmails as much as the next guy. But they are much more enjoyable when we get them with students.

Busy as Guristas... Lots of new students... Lots of training, both on the student and instructor sides of the house.

Everything is coming together nicely. We even got a Community Spotlight.

Definitely can't complain about much... except there's not enough hours in the day to do everything I want to do.

But you know how that is. Big smile

Summer time. Things are slow in Curse... slow enough that the instructors have taken to looking for action with a few low sec roams.

And of course, they are all writing essays on how they spent their summer vacation. Cool

Highly recommend these guys to anyone who wants to learn null sec skills. Too often, new players join a null sec alliance/corp and end up as cannon fodder. So before jumping into that punisher and heading down to null, why not spend a while with these guys and learn how to survive in null ?
The particular part of null where they live is probably one of the most dangerous parts of EVE that we have. So if you can survive, live and learn there, then nothing that your new home in another part of EVE will faze you.
You'll be a more effective contributor to any corp/alliance that you join afterwards and that's always a good thing.

Thanks Dunbar... Appreciate the recommendation. Miss those days with grumpy Adeptus and Archangel much?

I don't. Arch is still here, still grumpy. ;)

Summer's over!

It's that time of year again when people stop going outside and start keeping warm next to their computers.

See you in Curse!

Phoebe hit and now we're catching carriers in Curse. Crazy.

Obviously, some people have too much ISK if they're letting let a bunch of noobs in frigates blow up their capitals.

Course, I don't mind. :D
