Amazon: Buying ETC - not possible

So, I wanted to buy some ETCs (EVE Time Codes) to convert to PLEX. The easiest place to buy ETCs seemed like Amazon.

They're obviously reputable, their customer service is amazing, and they're the number one ETC seller listed on CCP's 3rd Party Retailers page. The page name is even etc.aspx!

So, I went in and handed over my info. Super easy. I was super happy.

Then the search began. Where was my C (code) from the ETC?

Not in my email, just a confirmation from Amazon.

Not in-game. Nothing to redeem. (as expected, really)

Not in my Amazon order history, though the order was there.

and not in my Amazon Games and Software Library .

But my subscription expiration moved forward a month.

Well, that's great, but I didn't want to buy a month of game time. I wanted to buy a code. An ETC, specifically. Of course, I wanted to convert the ETC into PLEX.

Has anyone found a way to buy ETCs and receive the actual EVE Time Code from Amazon? or another online vendor??

my apologies if this has been covered elsewhere. from what i found, everyone says "use Amazon, they're good" but no one tries to convert the ETC into PLEX from Amazon. just to buy game time.

thanks everyone for creating a great community.

Amazon has two types of options:

Buy Game time -> You get extra month(s) of sub, as you've noticed.
Buy PLEX -> You get PLEX in the redemption pool.

To buy an actual ETC that turns into two PLEX, you need to look elsewhere.

Amazon is good for adding to your subcription, or for buying straight PLEX (especially when they put them on sale); they just don't bother with the ETC option as the two they do give are simpler and fully automated (You pay Amazon, Amazon server tells CCP server, you get time/PLEX shortly with no added effort on your part).

To be honest, I'm not sure which of the other ones are best per se; Amazon's worked for me so I stuck with it.

I just looked, and Amazon does have a Buy PLEX option for 2 PLEX @ $34.99 USD, the price of an ETC in those other sites. http://www.amazon.com/PLEX-EVE-Online-Instant-Access/dp/B00GDHDGG4/ That might work for you in this case since you wanted to turn the ETC into PLEX.

As far as the other sites go... BattleClinic, Eve-Radio, Gamestop, and GreenManGaming are the ones I most easily recognize and personally would look at for ETCs if I couldn't use Amazon. The rest I simply have no idea whatsoever about.

BattleClinic is one of the main KillBoards used by EVE Online players, the others being ZKill and eve-kill or something along those lines. It's also the site that hosts the very useful EVEMon character planner tool.

Eve-Radio is pretty self-explanatory: An internet radio station pertaining to EVE Online.

GreenManGaming is a video game store site, like Gamestop.com.

Steam PLEX last I heard is useless if you aren't running the Steam version of EVE. Their only other gametime option is recurring sub, for the Steam version of EVE.

Amazon has a good reputation when it comes to how they handle their buyers. They frequently **** over their sellers though.

Green Man Gaming has Plex for $28 if you use their 20% off code. They give out codes like that pretty regularly.
