it's 2009, and I'm headed off to do another contract with the military. knowing this game would be fun in the future, I started not one but three accounts to train, like throwing a few potatoes in the oven. I played here and there, but most of my gameplay was skillqueue online.

fast forward to 2012 and i'm out of the military, doing some highsec missions. I had skills and ISK from PLEX, but generally no idea what the ****. so i got bored one day and jumped into lowsec, and warped to the sun.

got tackled by a proteus, but i wasn't worried. some T3s showed up at 100km and I still wasn't worried--they're in range of my cruise missiles. then i saw the flashes of [what I now know to be] a covert cyno, but i was holding up pretty good... still wasn't worried. then I went down one by one, and got my pods out. boredom was cured.

I did recognize that a ferox was not going to be as tanky as the rest of them, so I primaried that as I went down.

all that was said in local was one of the tundragon guys: "awesome"

yeah, i have to admit i was pretty freakin awesome that day.

My Sukuvestaa Heron yesterday. The funny thing is its not even the one you get for free buying the game, I just decided I wanted to go explore in style so I shelled out the extra couple mill for it. Lost it while learning what a warp bubble is in null. About a 8 mill loss, which is nothing even for a 1 month old player like me. Im probably setting myself up for a much bigger loss now that im running around in an Astero with Sister probes, but its no big deal. I can always do highsec level 3s to fund my learning of the wonders of null.

Left the game for a while before dueling was a thing. Came back to the game, left the station in a poorly fitted Retribution, someone challenged me, I accepted, I lost. Then didn't realize, that dueling also allowed them to pod me....along with the full set of slave implants I forgot I had. Just slightly worse than the time I undocked from Jita in an Bestower with two mackinaws in the cargo bay.

Then the alcohol started to dissipate, came around, popped another beer and undocked with a fresh ship.
Oh the ship?!? Don't remember... built it around my 10th beer P

My first battleship loss.

I was in an armageddon and baited a gatecamp, engaging until my support arrived and cleared the field (in wondrous fashion, I might add). I barely managed to get my geddon out in minimal structure (like 30% or something, if that).

We had no logi so I tagged along with the gang towards home, admiring the flames spewing from my beautiful ship that was barely in one piece, held together by so little that it would make a Minmatar pilot jealous.

Arrived in home system, warped station and popped the champagne. Brilliantly didn't warp to an insta-dock and landed just outside of docking radius.. straight into the middle of a wartarget insta-thrasher gang that just happened to be checking out our station at the time. A most undignified way to go and a lossmail that would bring a casual reader some amusement. At least I got a nice fight out of it before it was put out of its misery. Roll

It was not a loss of ship or skillpoints or any asset, my loss was in form of losing friends (gone inactive) as a consequences for a fight we had few months ago, not the actual fight caused this, it was the reason that we got the fight what caused the split in our group :/

I took out a Helios roam once. We used 3 hull tanked non-cloaky blaster fits. Ended up killing a Coecer, Thorax, and Dragoon with them, and only taking one loss (mine). Smile

I've autopiloted my Viator into low sec numerous times. The idea was to AP through hi sec and take manual control at the edge of low sec. Since I have the attention span of an amoeba, I often forgot.

No harm done for the first 15 times or so, making me even more sloppy. Of course, that cannot last, so one day I when I completely forgot I was AP'ing I flew right into a huge gate camp. Viator and pod loss were about 1 billion isk.

Worst part: even after that I still found myself afk in low sec numerous times. Allthough no harm was done I figured I'd better just stop using the damn AP.

Nowadays I rarely AP anything, could have something to do with the fact that ganking AFK ships is now hobby of mine Roll

I used to hunt ceptors in my buzzard, pre ECM change. (Not this char)

It worked rather well.

My first loss - a catalyst.
Not because it was expensive or anything like that, but because of that embarrassing kill mail that is going to haunt me forever.
Dual aktiv tank with a plate, a data analyzer, probe launcher and mixed gun sizes. Of course no rigs, and one empty mid slot because I didn't know what to put there.
Flew into low sec because of a mission and got blown up on the first gate.

I lost a rather blingy Naglfar and a Chimy in one engagement once. Only caps I've ever lost to date. By far my biggest loss ever.

The year I started playing this game, I noobishly jumped my Obelisk into a lowsec system on a super long route. I was really tired and didn't even notice. I slowly approached the gate back into hisec; that's when I realized that there were a bunch of red flashing ships on my screen. They immediately bumped me away from the gate before I realized what was going on. I wasn't exactly the most qualified Obelisk pilot, so they were ripping me to pieces in moments. I just let them finish (since my ship was facing the opposite direction of everything) and escaped in my pod. I was angry at myself of course for awhile; but, I eventually got my money back so that I could feed more pirates later with my stupidity.
