Well they already have limited of how close they can be set off by the gates. They already smart bomb around them now so not much would change. Easy set limits again how close they can be use around stations and gates :).

I have to question your intelligence.

There is no need for a dedicated smartbombing ship for this to happen. If there was a big enough supply of people willing to do this, it would happen already. We don't see all gates full of tornados with remote sebo support either.

Anyhow... what we would see indeed is an increase in discos in highsec, because smartbombs right now aren't really cost effective for what they provide. A cheap hull to sport eight large ones would be great. I can see why that's not going to happen, though...

massive exaggeration, an (eg.) effective 10-sb ship wouldn't accomplish much more in this regard than an 8-sb ship

The most limiting factor anyway is ISK.
It needs a battleship to utilize them properly, which makes noobs use typhoons, (which I recall as "cheap")
instead of proper ones like an hyperion or that amarrian one with 1500m+ axis.


One could say that ISK indeed is a balancing factor when it comes to smartbombs ... at least in highsec.

i meant something standard like +5% SB damage/level, and only as an example towards 'quoted is being a git'

That's not really an issue if you simply warp on top of them,
as we're not talking about battleship warptimes here.

Hey, when we get to build gates can we upgrade them to include automatic smartbombing of non-alliance members?

I would prefer smaller smartbombs to be a reasonable module for other ships instead, being somewhat viable even with 1 or 2 of them. It would be an interesting counter to drones.

OP, it would break wormhole PvE.

In red giants, smartbombs do +100% dmg and range - and smart people ALREADY warp in 10-12 tanked battleships and a carrier and clear sleeper sites in a minute of smartbombing hell.

Now you add a dedicated smarbombing platform, and those same sites can be cleared by 4-6 ships instead of 10-12, thus messing up T3 production chains completely, and significantly increasing isk supply from sleeper loot, thus driving up inflation.

A positive would mean that C6 red giants would be fought over, but...

TL:DR - would break wormholes.
