Idea: How to make Black holes viable

So the current black hole stats make them undesirable for many.
Affected stat Wormhole class
1 2 3 4 5 6
Missile velocity -10% -19% -27% -34% -41% -50%
Ship velocity +25% +44% +55% +68% +85% +100%
Drone control range -10% -19% -27% -34% -41% -50%
Inertia +25% +44% +55% +68% +85% +100%
Optimal -10% -19% -27% -34% -41% -50%
Falloff -10% -19% -27% -34% -41% -50%

I say leave the stats as is.

Add in some new ones, mostly focused on industrial type activities. Bring more ppl in w-space.

Research {ME/PE}
Add static mining anomalies & ice to them {yes flame me idc.}
PI bonus
etc etc

I think they should adjust black hole systems as follows. All ships piloted by pilots named Nolen get sucked to the system effect. Any attempts to warp away slingshot you back. Upon a successful pod death you get sucked in for 3 days until finally popping out in a station.

Could call it the "Nolen" effect.

I'd move into a Black Hole system just for the chance to see it happen.

Black holes are not hard to live in. Caldari hulls are very suitable for them. Try it.

+1, im not a miner but do approve of some kind of Indy bonused hole...might as well make it Black Hole.

EDIT: maybe do mining/harvesting yield and cycle time reduction.

I'm not personally experienced with the constraints of C5/C6 black holes, but C1-C4 range from nothing to minor annoyance. PvP is usually brawling anyway, though turrets might have a little harder time than missiles. PvE just requires minor ship changes to be as efficient as a non black hole system.

They can require slightly different ship fits, fleet compositions, and tactics, but if you are willing to adapt instead of trying to stay inflexible and force the world around you to conform to your picture of How Things Should Be, you can come up with some very creative gameplay in black holes.

So utilizing the black hole thread that JUST made it to page two is too difficult?

Making a black hole industrial focused was already an idea pitched on there, but yeah - it could add the spice of life to some black holes.

I like it. CCP will never add ice to j-space because they don't want us NOT surfacing in k-space every once in a while, but otherwise I think the potential for industrial hubs in j-space is cool.

How about making blackholes affect weapons by type?

So yes generally missiles suffer damage, lasers have their light distorted but hybrids/projectiles get damage bonuses thanks to gravity adding impact velocity.

lower the overall penalties to inertia and velocity but keep them. Lower ranges but not by so much.

How to fix Black Holes:

Remove all moons from them.

Add Ice belts.
C1/2s get sites with small amounts of one racial ice type. (one for each)
C3/4s get sites with medium amounts of one racial ice type. (one for each)
C5/6s get sites with large amounts of one racial ice type. (one for each)

System effects:
Reduce maximum D-scan range by 1.5/3/4.5/6/7.5/9 AUs
Increase cycle time of strip miners, mining lasers, ice harvesters and gas harvesters by 3/6/9/12/15/18%
Increase Agility of all ships by 5/10/15/20/25/30%

Call it done.

would actually be really interesting.

I will say, I do wish black holes were physical objects in space, that could **** your day up.
