So it begins, the embarrassing relentless micro transaction promotions, today facebook, tomorrow everywhere!!

CCP have tested the waters successfully this time, let the flood gates open. I would like to see, Plex for remaps, Plex for SP maybe plex for SP reimbursement/replacement, plex for "gold" memberships which entitle you to 150% skill training speed and a reduction in broker fee's, Maybe instead of plex for duel character training plex for 200% speed.

Dont just [u]think[/u] outside the box, [u]Live[/u] outside of it...

Im ok with this.

However I think paintjobs will be a financial flop in return, in terms of what was invested into making them in the first place.

Doesnt really have allthat much media appeal either.
They arent very good, nor distinct. And the selection of ships they exist for doesnt coincide with what are the most popular ships.

As to P2W, atleast PLEX and sub costs will drop, invariably and inevitably, as EVE reaches the end of its product cycle.
I wouldnt put skill training buffa etc out of the picture at that, hopefully as distant as possible, point.

Sorry added a question which was along the lines of "SP isn't important"

I should have added for those reasonable souls who threaten to quit "what advantage is given if SP (specifically the rate of gain of SP) isn't important?"

Agreed with what I read as ypur sentiment.

IMO, SP is the single most important ingame commodity.Literally dictates what you can and cannot do with any given toon, and is directly related to account age, and hence either financing through subs, or someone elses bought PLEX.

Offering SP increasing options would certainly make profit, albeit at the expense of vet bitterness. But new players, and old, alike would certainly buy them. Almost all other MMOs have, sooner or later, ended up offering advanced character deals. Usually near the end of their product cycle.

But PLEX for SP will reverberate throughout the playerbase causing riots with fires and pitchforks and lynchings, not good at all

True. But if you lose a player who was simply using ingame PLEXs for subs, financially, who cares, if at the same time one single other player buys with currency even one SP deal.

True. But if you lose a player who was simply using ingame PLEXs for subs, financially, who cares, if at the same time one single other player buys with currency even one SP deal.


Ingame PLEXs originate from RL GTC codes paid for with cash. So it's just a matter of who they are collecting the cash from. I would suspect CCP would prefer to collect the cash WITHOUT angering 80%+ of their playerbase.

I realise there were subtle undertones of troll with a hint of tears in my original post, but in all seriousness the ideas I posted I would love. I feel they would give CCP a boost in income as well as instantly remove a large hurdle for many new players to the game - The SP grind.

Adding options of plex for isk, plex for accelerated training etc is a easy quick fix to a old mechanic which in its entirety is bad for new players.

People who bang on about new people not pumping RL cash into a new game must of seen the same 1 month old officer fit fail ships many of us others have, clearly people do and will put a RL cash investment ina new game, now instead of letting them get blown to bits, why not offer them a helpful hand up which other bitter vets cant blow up at the stroke of the F1 key?

CCP in a sense already offer SP for ISK/plex in the whole character bazzar deal.

Some people like to create their own characters, with unique names which mean something to themselves. Thinking about this plex for resculpting already exists, why not plex for name change - an idea previously brought up.


Hear, hear! You just have to look at the newborn player graphs at EVE-Offline to see what a difference this would make!

PLEX for remaps and PLEX for SP reassignement will happen eventually (imho within the next 2 years).

Increased skill training speed seems very risky for CCP and probably won't happen any time soon, outright buying of SP will never happen.

New player can buy a char using char bazaar.

SP for PLEX would be very short term thinking for CCP.
