Observe my portrait and the weird strong shadow. It went like this after I recustomised my character post-patch. It didn't have the big shadow in the customisation screen, only when I returned to the game.

Oh, thought I'm alone on this and it's related to my changed outfit. Just to add on this, it's a issue with server side rendering. The client rendered preliminary image is just fine.

Yeah I'm not noticing it in the game itself, or at least not yet. Only on Eve Gate so far.

You'll see it ingame once your cached image (the client created one) expires.

I switched from light 6 (light source on the top left) to light 5 (light source on the top right). let's see how it changes... :)

Edit:
Just noticed we both use the Minmatar background. Mabye it's background related? (Although I wouldn't expect that due to it most likely being a static image).

Edit 2:
Found another victim: https://gate.eveonline.com/Profile/Grukni So it's def. not the background nor any special part of clothing (unless males got a broken one too).

CCP, please fix the portrait shadowing. This looks bloody awful.

Okay, with light 5 it's even worse.

Picked light 2 (pick the variation with softest shadows) as another test. Looks like a decent workaround as it isn't broken or at least you can't notice it that easy (see yourself, hit Ctrl+F5 to force reload my avatar image; depending on browser).

I tried changing light settings, didn't really help me much.

It can take several hours for the web images to update properly. Don't think your image changed so far for me.

It got worse. It's now affecting my in-game portrait as well, and people who try to recustomise aren't having their changes go through properly. What the hell is going on, CCP?

After the last patch, I had my portrait change pose and the hair position is different now. Not sure what changed, but I can't seem to recreate what I had before.

Still, I'm not having the lighting issues that others seem to be having.

Your client image has been cached (the one your character customization created). Later on you got the web one (cache expired), so that's the reason you're seeing it there now too. Actually it didn't became more serious.

Mikkel: Seems like changing the light worked. Which one did you pick? Or is it fixed?

There were indeed some issues with the serverside portrait rendering. From what I get it should be fixed now, though, so doing yet another portrait should do it, if you find yours still being weirdly lit on the Forums/EVE Gate as well (keep in mind it will take 2 hours to become available after you redid it)

I've done mine several times since this post.

I even had a character customisation flag and re did it since this post.

I still have the shadow of a twitter bird logo on my forehead that is not in game.
