Deleting outstanding courier contract

Hey,

I´m not sure, if this is the right forum, but I´ll give it a try:

Due to groundbreaking stupidity I set a courier contract with a collateral way, way too low (700m³ of ore and 2m instead of 2bn) Straight Still new to this. The contract got accepted but I´m pretty sure I´ll never see result of 3 weeks of hard work again...

What happens, if I delete the outstanding contract? I couldn´t find an answer anywhere. Do the items return to my hangar on the current station or are they ultimately gone? What happens, if the box was already opened?

The only way you can get your items back is if the person who accepted the contract completes it. There's nothing you can do at this point (except learn from your mistake).

I don't think you can delete open courier contracts but if you can it would just make sure you'll never get your items back.

Edit: another lesson - don't post on the forums that an outstanding contract has too low a collateral. If the person who accepted it reads this, you've screwed yourself.

Are you sure you want to delete this contract, Jita >> xxx?
Any collateral and/or broker's fee will be lost!

If this is a personal contract, any items in this contract will be returned to your hangar. If this is a corporation contract they will be returned to the deliveries hangar.

I have the option to select "delete" and then this message pops us. I just don´t know if I get an error-message, when I accept.

Didn´t work:

"You cannot perform this action on a contract that is not Outstanding." Sad

But thanks for your quick answer

Luckily for you, the general public cannot see who accepted your public contract until it gets completed. However, anyone who accepted your contract is likely looking at the contents right now thinking "oh boy I can plex early this month."

an accepted contract is not outstanding.

Until the contract is failed, you have a sliver of hope that the person might unwittingly complete it.

You can also evemail them and make a groveling appeal, although it will help if you offer them a few hundred mil for their kindness. More people than you think would be willing to take 500m and a guilt-free conscience over your 2 bn in stuff. Although if you're running courier contracts for money, they might really need the money. They also might just be pissed off because by assigning low collateral, you may have placed them at high risk for ganking, without any sort of warning (had they not double checked the contents).

I always make sure my contracts are overcollateralized for my protection, and they typically range from 1-5b each. Remember, you are not just covering their value, but your time for replacing the items. People call my courier contracts scams, but you see that extra few billion is just good business sense.

I have it on good authority that the aforementioned contract, put forth by Corum Tajn, will more than likely not be completed. You will be able to retrieve your 2mil collateral in approx. 7 days.

I have had contracts 'lucky dipped' before. There are definitely people that just accept courier contracts with collateral in the sub 10m range and take them.

There is a reason I always overcollateralize contracts. 100% of sell order price if I want the goods gone, 120-500% if I want the goods for somepurpose.

I have it on good authority from personal experience that inara tamm will cheat you for only a few million. I put 200 million collateral up for her to move a domi for me. she accepted and then sold it. Do not use her for ANYTHING.
