New EVE Ship Models Discussion

Thank you everyone for your feedback!

There are a lot of ships mentioned, looking at the numbers it´s interesting to see how spread out the interest is. Still, a few are at the top, in descending order:

Rifter
Nyx 
Hel 
Megathron
Hyperion
Machariel
Abaddon
Scorpion
Tengu
Thorax

But right after those, ships like Legion, Naglfar, Hurricane, Maller, Merlin, Naga come in strong. We hope to be able to make some announcements at Fanfest, but again, it will take some time to get these in your hands, due to the nature of manufacturing physical products.

We may not start with the Rifter, even if it's at the top. We'll also be looking at what ships lend themselves best to being modelled, what ships have been recently renovated and other factors. The more recently renovated ships exist in more detail in our source model library, and thus are easier to convert into physical models than the older ones.

Still, there is obviously interest in word. Now we must make a few, see how they sell and take it from there!

Thanks for the feedback! one of the many things i appreciate about EVE. Quick question as to the type of material being considered. I do like the weight of the originals and wasn't to keen on the collector edition. I understand going forward that the cost will be a major consideration. my vote was for the original material but look forward to seeing what is available!

Not going to read back 35 pages but woudl be cool to crank out small scale EVE ships for Christmas each year with each inside a clear bubble/bulb to hang on the tree...Cool

My list would be: Hound and Wyvern!

Wyvern had around ten mentions, ranking it at 49, according to our rough calculations. There's a lot of ships to cover!

We're looking at something more akin to the original ships. The collector edition Rifter was ofc a USB hub, so there was lightweight plastic used for the frame. These would not be USB hubs, just models.

I'm sad to not see the proteus on the top list, especially seeing as the Tengu and Legion made it.

What with it's death-sexy Kaalakiota paintjob, who wouldn't want one? I'll give you ALL the money for this. I'm wearing the ****ing Widow shirt as I type this.

Size should be as big an awesome as possible without being too imposing to park on a desk, the last ones were good, except for the apoc being too small. I trust you guys to paint it much better than I can, I don't mind some assembly, lights are cool. Must have durability, I don't want it to shatter the first time it gets bumped off a desk.

You guys are awesome, we've waited so long!

I could sit here all day talking about what ships I would like to see... so I will keep it as short as possible.

I would like to see faction ships. Faction paint jobs look awesome on the models.

At the time (in 2010), I didn't have the ability to buy the models that were on sale. I regret that to this day because I loved them so much. If you make them, I will buy one of each no questions asked.

Hyperion, Rokh, Scorpion, really just something blocky and/or symmetrical. Self-assembly would be great though, enthusiastic ones get to tweak some led lights, wiring and possibly other electronics into the models during the assembly.

I was already hoping you'd take your game to the next level, would have suggested using the, so far, somewhat experimental nuclear fission. With proper stabilizer agents and core compression, it could be made in theory run on plutonium-244. Wouldn't run anything massive however.

All posts and mails screencapped and time stamped, including out of EVE, you will not reverse on me.

Might come in handy!

I would like to see the Raven with the updated model and in the standard Caldari colors. Always loved the way that ship looked.

The new Megathron in it's standard Gallente colors would be amazing too. :D

edit: Oh I totally misread this thread. Thought CCP was going to remodel some of the ships for the game ... you know, because its a game.

Once upon a time the Golem had a Raven hull and it looked good. Then it transformed into a plataduck. The end.

Providence, not because is outdated, looks bad etc, just because it got most Majestic look in game, would be cool to see it with more precise textures, shapes, just epicness.

Dont change the colour - Yellow-gold matt is fine, more biger windows-glass elements" Extra overpaint no needed, but with small amounts of Amarr ornaments would be cool..

If it bleed we can kill it.

Self build would be the only reason I wouldn't buy a model.

Anything with faction paint. Maybe consider doing the same thing as last time... the "standard" versions, and the "faction" versions... hopefully without the huge price difference this time!
