This is factually unaccurate

My question is: Why the Hole gotta be Black? And why no talk about how the oppressive White stars are the one's that will burn you to death?

Pffft! What about all that white star matter that gets sucked away from stars that are providing life giving energy to healthy, productive planetary systems and instead is fed into a bottomless pit of taking from which no one ever seems to escape?

Also it should be noted that EVE map represents only known parts of the space that are reachable by star gates, there could be any number of systems we just have no way of reaching them.

Star Systems in Milky Way --> Roughly 100 Billion

Star Systems on Eve map --> ummh .... not really anywhere near 100 Billion

On what scale does a galaxy tend to be on as far as number of constituent stars go again?

It's mot a mistake when you leave it out on purpose.

Besides, what about it's structure leads you to believe it is a galaxy as opposed to a disconnected cluster?

Damn you CCP for not making this Fictional Fluid Universe Space Submarine Game not 100% accurate!

Oh wait...New Eden isn't a galaxy..its a Star Cluster.... OPs points are invalid.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Perhaps the black hole is there, but our systems are not calibrated to show it since we cannot reach it and it is not relevant to our activities.

Somewhere in (or around) Minmatar space there is a thing called "Ginnungagap". You can see it on the Star Map. You can also right-click it and "Show Info" to read that it is, in fact, a black hole.

Galaxies: Now available in minisize to fit in your handbag!

Our own galaxy is around 100k LY in diameter. Now look at the map. Now back to this thread. Look at the map again. Now go to your corner.

To fix this horrible physical atrocity highsec will be consumed by a black hole and become the center of the galaxy.

Isn't eve set in the 'New Eden Cluster' ??
If so it's more like the Magellan Clouds than an actual Galaxy

plus CCP are mean, and they only let us play in a tiny part of it anyway Sad

Hawkings nowadays claims they are actually gray.

I don't believe anything people say along the lines of "famous scientist says this", especially if they don't even get said famous scientist's name right.

a galaxy has billions of stars. Eve has a few thousand. New Eden is a small part of a much larger galaxy, that yes, probably does have black holes in the center.

Perhaps the area EVE inhabits is only part of a galaxy, such as the end of an arm, and there hasn't been much exploration?
Or that we can only visit a certain number of systems, and the Black Hole is of no concern to the Empires

Or it's just a game and we should just be quiet...
