All galaxies have a big black hole in their center. Take the milky way as a spiral galaxy for example. But ffs where is this in New Eden?? Thousands of solar systems static in space?? an astrophysical nightmare. Plz patch that up CCP! thank you very thousand Bear

So, what you are saying is, that Eve is physically inaccurate and unrealistic?

Planets don't orbit and space is liquid, Eve isn't governed by our universes rules.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Between clusters of galaxies there are strung out ribbons of clusters of stars that are thousands of light years long, the EvE cluster could be about 1% of one of those.
But there's me thinking you know what you're talking about.
Sorry.

If there is one in EVE, I'd bet it's in Syndicate.

The players are the black hole in EVE.

Pon Farr Memorial: once every 7 years, all the carebears in high-sec must PvP or they will be temp-banned.

What if New Eden was just a computer simulation, and whoever created it wasn't overly concerned about matching the physics and construct of the real universe? Kind of like The Matrix, you know?

Our galaxy, the Milky Way, alone may contain upto 400 billion stars.

New Eden is but a small region in its galaxy.

Obligatory.

Your mother is a black hole.

That ringing in your ears you're experiencing right now is the last gasping breathe of a dying inner ear as it got thoroughly PULVERISED by the point roaring over your head at supersonic speeds. - Tippia

As already stated, New Eden is not a galaxy.

Just also putting it out there that galaxies such as M33 do not appear to have sufficient central stellar velocity dispersions to contain central supermassive black holes. To assume that every galaxy has a supermassive black hole is simply wrong... We don't know enough about each galaxy we have seen yet either.

As a side note. It's not the black hole that we detect, its the effects and area around said black holes that allow is to "see" their presence.

Edit: Spelling and yada yada

Edit2: For all those interested

Quoted from Doc Fury: "Concerned citizens: Doc seldom plays EVE on the weekends during spring and summer, so you will always be on your own for a couple days a week. Doc spends that time collecting kittens for the on-going sacrifices, engaging in reckless outdoor activities, and speaking in the 3rd person."

My question is: Why the Hole gotta be Black? And why no talk about how the oppressive White stars are the one's that will burn you to death?

New Eden is about 120ly across at widest spot. Most galaxies are between 320ly and 3,200,000ly in diameter.

If we look at the Large Magellanic Cloud (close neighbour to Milky Way, lets pretend New Eden is in the LMC), I've marked the apparent size of New Eden on the map with a big red blob:

(It's the small dot at the center of the cloud, LMC is 14,000ly in diameter)

On the amount of stars: Larges galaxies have up to 100,000,000,000,000 stars.

Edit: I'm sorry for actual content on GD.

Overall structure is governed by the gates coming out of the point of origin, i.e. the EVE Gate.
