We all know the americans get a better deal then everyone in Europe when purchasing game items - plex/gtc. For a while everyone has just purchased the American versions to save money.

It appears CCP have contacted amazon and told them only to sell to americans at the "discounted" rate. There is a note on the listings which now states only US citizens with a US billing address can purchase the items.

GG ccp just lost my purchase of 28plex

Way to jump to a conclusion.

There are a lot of possible reasons that policy changed, not simply because CCP decided to gank non-US customers.

12 plex for Europe (gb) £179.99 which is $299 using todays exchange rates. Where as its only $209.94 for the americans. That's a difference of £59.

with the $99 USD you save you can then almost purchase another 6 plexes.....

I know "taxes" and all that but still, there was a way around this which has been removed.

I believe amazon are allowed to set the prices they offer stuff for.

Also, prices in the UK an EU are inclusive of taxs etc where as i believe the US prices are not including tax.

Yeah but dont blame CCP for that on the basis of assumption.

They may well be responsible for Amazon's change of policy, but until you know for a fact that they are, take it up with Amazon.

Have you gone and complained to Amazon at all?

This does beg a question, would sending an American friend USD via paypal then getting them to purchase and send you plex, be considered as RMT?

You could even give them $50 for their troubles and still be $49 better off yourself

Battleclinic deep space supply sold me GTC at US prices, they even phoned me so obviously they could figure where I am and still sold them. Fill your boots while you still can, before CCP get to them.

I live in the US. We have cheap PLEX and expensive healthcare. Which of us is getting the better deal?

Plex is still cheaper to buy from account managment because Amazoo charges sales tax in most states.

wtf is anyone buying that much plex for? I guess "freedom" and all.. but gd.. that is a serious amount of plex... says the guy who only remembers buying 1 plex so he could skill up a second scout alt on his account.

So what, he needs ISK and buys plex from CCP. Without people like him I wouldn't be able to buy plexes as the supply would be too low, having someone legitimately using real money to supply their ISK need is completely fine.

I'm wondering the same. Why buy so many? It's not as if the price per PLEX goes down (after 2x).
