I was recently wondering if a Target Lock Breaker would help.

How much did you get fined?

I ran into the exact same problem before, too. Filed a ticket. CCP's response was "Our bad, we should have said so in the description. You still get the shaft, though."

Sold the stupid BR the next day.

Just need a clarification here.

Isn't it the police and not Concord that scan for contraband?

If so, you should be able to avoid them if you agility tank your Blockade Runner.

1. Put your contraband into a storage container.
2. Create a private courrier contract from where you are (A) to where you want to go (B) with that container and 1 unit of anything else as the cargo and yourself and the transporter.
3. Accept contract
4. Place shrink wrapped contract goods in your cargo bay.
5. Travel point A to B
6. Dock at B
7. Complete contract
8. Profit $$$

Apparently they can't scan inside shrink wrapped containers very well. Last time I did it, it worked great.

That would be essentially correct. And the "man" does not have a presence at every gate.

Only Customs frigates scan for contraband, you have to be decloaked within 10km of one.
Agility fit Blockade runner still might get the warning notify but you don't have to sit there and take anything, just split.
I learned all about this as a newb, wanted to go red from moving drugs n firearms, tiny fines, tiny sec loss that's only faction and eventual confiscation when i wasn't fast enough on a gate.
On the other hand, have used the customs mechanics to both set and evade traps, it's probably the most engaging thing in highsec.

Smuggling is very neglected though, almost like an afterthought. I wonder if people do it for ISK, or if there's profit in it.

One of the things we hoped for with WiS was the implication from one of the trailers about having to leave the pod to do "certain things" and so we imagined an underworld in the stations of sorts (I wanted to actually use those guns but that's the FPS in me).

It only works in Orcas or Freighters though. Bear

Keep in mind that the popup comes with a fine and a standing penalty, you may get away with the stuff but the fines add up quickly and will destroy your profit margins Blink

Sadly smuggling in eve is like exploration. Just like exploration is basically a nerd treasure hunt and not exploration at all, smuggling in eve is just a mad dash to a destination while hoping you don't cop too many fines.

Drug smuggling to HS locations summed up:

1.) Bring goods to a low sec system closest to your high sec destination

2.) Load goods into something that can warp cloaked and align fast(ish).

3.) Make a mad dash to destination. Accept the fact that there will be a fine or two but it's random. You could have a good day without fines.

4.) Profit

Did I just break your immersion? Lol

iirc on average you'll find customs on about 50% of your out gates, all of which will fine the second you land on grid. This method does work though even if its hilariously expensive.

As is just about every other dumb profession that the average person associates with any given space game. Every time some eager newbie talks about how he wants to be a "Bounty Hunter" I just laugh and pat him on the shoulder.

NPC's in this game are a ******* joke, smuggling stuff past NPC's is dumb as hell. Until they build a reason for players to do the job of both the smuggler and the hunter it's pointless to treat it as a profession that you would even care about.

If it's so easy then why was i scrambled inside the gate warp animation. Please don't tell me it was "for my protection", that's what the cops told me.
