i hardly see any difference in sell prices, he rose at the time of the ship painting and after because of people having to buy their ship paint by taking a plex and converting it to AUR. Plex is just at 699m in jita which is still more than it was before the announcement of ship paint. If the prices were indeed tied to another MMO coming out than plex would not have raised just because of a new game coming out as that would actually encourage people to go switch and take a break for a while.

If you have proof of this being over a game, show it. Because if so your theory would mean that a game such as Star Citizen should really increase the price.

More than likely though as the ship paint jobs run out of steam for a bit the prices will fall back down some more, until CCP decides to push through with the next wave of ship paint or something else that would involve the use of PLEX. Each time they added a use to plex the worth of plex has increased substantially to lower again but not back at the same price it was before the raise. I do not predict that the plexes will fall to much more since they were 670m before ship paint and rose to 720-730+ for the ship paints and are once again back down to 700m.

You know what's annoying?

I have about 50 1000 AUR tokens and I can't sell them. Thanks to my big-as-my-forearm, $750.00, 5 lb chunk of video perfection crapping out on me, I can barely log in to switch skills.

Sucks to be me sometimes :(

Every time Star citizen reaches a new strech goal (how many can you have without actually delivering anything beside promises) I log in to EVE just to see if CCP already shut down the servers, do I have to worry because of TESO, too now?

Doesn't offer world PvP. I don't think I'll be buying it.

I talk about EVE trading and general space violence in my blog.

For the ISK and the yarr!

Why would you have to worry about either of them? You might as well worry about the next Mario game…

I hear that SC might be possibly adding the dogfighting module sometime this year maybe according to Chris Roberts mother-in-laws dogwalkers next door neighbor's second cousin in-law.

Once that happens, PLEX will do something because then Eve will have to contend with Hangar Offline AND 2-4 player Alpha Dogfighting Glitches Online!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Haven't seen much of a change in PLEX prices really. Always goes up in weekends and drops slightly during week, so far nothing out the ordinary (save that prices really soared upwards lately)

Got beta invite to ESO. Played for less than two hours, uninstalled, been flagging their endless "join now!" as spam ever since then.

It's just another generic WoW clone in ES clothes, nothing more. The game will probably beat KotR's record for "Biggest Launch followed by Biggest Exodus."

Seriously, it will turn into a P2W game within a year and be gone within three, tops.

Now SC... that might make a dent for a while, but despite all the claims that game & EvE are just too fundamentally different to really be considered competition with each other. What SC will be competing against is Valkyrie, and that CCP is still pursuing Valkyrie in light of this is just classic hopeful myopic greed on CCP's part. That's assuming that SC ever actually comes out and Robert's doesn't just take the money and spend the rest of his life getting drunk in Switzerland & laughing at all the suckers who believed in him.

The Mandate is the one I've got my eye on, but again I doubt it will ever actually get finished, and if it does it will be so long in the future that all the original KS backers will have completely forgotten about it, thus killing most interest before it even begins.

This about sums it up. IMO the fantasy genre MMO is just way too tired and overplayed.

So basically what we're saying is that all those folks that were sitting on mounds of PLEX and came blasting the forums with cries of "PLEX PRICES ARE SKYROCKETING!!! BETTER BUY NOW!!!!" finally meta'd the price to where they wanted to be an unloaded their stock?

Well played.

It is good to have substance to one's existence.  But in the absence of substance, one can do much yet with style.

Also on topic: ESO looks like generic garbage.
