What if Capital mining was a thing? Give the Rorq a special drone (max 5 deployed) that functions in a similar manner to a fighter (can warp?) but only usable by the Rorqual. Give it the ability to harvest 1000m3. It would give those guys who own these rorqs something to do with them beyond a really cool alt/booster for mining fleets. Maybe even add such a thing to the Orca to get these things into belts etc? ofc the Orca would have maybe 1/2 of these fighter/harvester type drones, but it was just a thought. or even giving them a module that lets them do some form of harvesting (1 laser) that harvests a few thousand m3. Would be nice to see these bigger ships in belts instead of in POSes and i know roaming gangs would love to get their hands on these kind of ships.

Rorqual changes should be focused around giving it a reason to be on grid with the mining fleet. These changes would eliminate the need for said fleet.

I believe the best way to balance the Rorqual is to give it an Ore bay of 1,000,000 m3 in size, as well as give it a 15%-20% bonus to mining boosts while on-grid.

All the Rorqual needs is the industrial core removed and put the bonuses into the ship. Then you see Rorqual on grid .

making a ship capable indroducing even larger quanaties of ore just serves to lower ore prices and therefore decrease the profits of anybody not in this new ship. i dont see a change that hurts the bottom line of the majority and shifts profits further out of reach of newer players gaining much support
