Hi guys, just a quick question - have fitted out a basic level Executioner (with the help of a few guides), but I'm a bit stuck as to what I should fit to the rig slots. There's a lot of a choice but I'm not 100% on what would match best to my other items (and if my other items are good / bad / awful!)... Any advice would be really appreciated!

High power
Dual light pulse laser I x 3 (Multifrequency S)
Small diminishing power system drain

Medium power
Experimental IMN Afterburner I
J5b phased prototype warp scrambler
X5 prototype engine enervator

Low power
Damage control I
Small armour repairer I
Heat sink I

Thanks! Smile

If its a PVP tackle ship (Which it is by the look of your midslots) Its not really worth fitting rigs, and since that its a t1 ship with t1 fits, rigs will basically double its value, probably more effective to just buy another ship once you get killed.

You can easily add very cheap (75k + 90k) DPS rigs:

Small Energy Burst Aerator I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I
[Empty Rig slot]

There is almost never a reason not to fit them really. There are many rigs out there that are both inexpensive and handy for the application at hand.

Also, its best to never use T1 meta0 modules if you can. Higher meta modules are easier to fit, more effective, and some times even cheaper than their meta0 counterparts.

Here is an example:

[Executioner, Executioner fit]

Emergency Damage Control I
Extruded Heat Sink I
Small 'Accommodation' Vestment Reconstructer I

X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
J5b Phased Prototype Warp Scrambler I
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I

Dual Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Ultraviolet S
Dual Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Ultraviolet S
Dual Modulated Pulse Energy Beam I, Ultraviolet S
E5 Prototype Energy Vampire

Small Auxiliary Thrusters I
Small Energy Locus Coordinator I
Small Energy Burst Aerator I

The rigs in this fit cost around 300k isk, for a total cost of 2.1mil for the ship. BTW, If you have the skills going for a long point + MWD kiting setup is preferable for the hull.

Hi again :)

So I thought I had a good fit sorted from advice I'd received and research I'd done, but unfortunately I don't have the required CPU or power to fit everything (and I only realised after fitting my rigs... idiot!). Any advice on alternative items I could fit, so that I don't have to scrap rigs / change too much?

[Executioner, Executioner - 1st Fit]
Small Armor Repairer II
Heat Sink I
F85 Peripheral Damage System I

Warp Scrambler II
X5 Prototype Engine Enervator
Experimental 1MN Afterburner I

Dual Light Pulse Laser II
Dual Light Pulse Laser II
Dual Light Pulse Laser II
Small Diminishing Power System Drain I

Small Auxiliary Nano Pump I
Small Energy Collision Accelerator I
Small Energy Metastasis Adjuster I

Thanks in advance Big smile

you should try to skill into this fit

Highs
small focused pulse laser II x3
open high slot

Mids
limited 1mn mwd
j5 warp disruptor
x5 enervator

Lows
damage control II
heat sink II
nanofiber II

Rigs
small energy locus coordinator x3

you can orbit at ~12.5km (you are so fast you end up actually orbiting at about 15km) and shoot with scorch and kill pretty much anything.
if its a brawl ship it wont be able to touch you with your defensive web and you can catch any kite ship and out dps it with multi
but its a good idea to stay away from drone boats and kestrels as you are paper thin unless you feel like you can win

EDIT: you need your cpu, pg, and weapon upgrades skills to 5 and advanced weapon upgrades to 4 to fit this

Ah, I suspected it may be my skills (or lack of) that were holding me back. Thanks a lot for the reply and information - appreciate it Big smile

Also just a quick hint of fitting damage rigs to laser boats.

Use a collision rig over a burst rig. It increases each hit damage. Burst rigs increase ROF which in turn has a negative effect on your capacitor.

Some people argue that burst rig give more damage than collision (true but you can make do with .5dps less for better cap by about 5%)

That is the Way, the Tao.

Balance is everything.
