Who was that American Football player that got thrown out for dogfights or something like that? couple years in jail, rehabs, public service before he could come back. I need to see a graduation certificate from a penetentiary and release from a mental hospital. Isolating criminals from society is how we protect society.

Threatening someone's life, especially when the person issuing the threat is in an obvious state of agitation is no laughing matter.

Its called assault and usually is'nt prosecuted around here unless it escalates to aggravated assault. Yes to my knowlege verbal threats are called an assault. I'm no lawyer, Had a friend go through this. Ended up with electroshock treatments, though he wasn't imprisoned.

Scamming spying and all the dirty things are a part of EVE, carebear or not I think we can all agree on that. These things all take part of the meta game as much as they do in the actual game. I feel that if Erotica 1 was actually warned by CCP and/or asked to stop, he would of gladly done so if they felt it was truly bad for the game.

However much you hate Erotica 1 or feel what a sadistic person he is, we all know he is playing the scammer character to some extend and to be honest he represents that part of community fairly well, he is one of the bigger names who represent that side and it would be a little sad to see that go, we all know there is some roleplaying element here.

I don't actually know if Erotica 1's ban is permanent, but surely we can give the guy another chance, and not let the darker side of EVE's community die?

Lets be REAL....The guy crossed the line he was awarded his punishment and nothing we can do about it but LEARN from his mistake.

It's just that simple.

Whats simpler yet is the 'victim' didn't feel he was tortured, also feels Ripard's crusade did more harm than good, and all the pansy trained seals who ever lost a mackinaw to a ganker (or scammer) chimed in with 400 pages of 'kill the witch!" heresy against HTFU...

What I recommend is for the OP to do what we are doing, shoot a carebear in the face in response...you will feel better than trying to talk the Ripards et al out of their pansy ways.

CCP gave due process. Did CCP lose any ships? Did CCP benefit financially by banning a player? (nope just the opposite)

The player base provided their feedback and CCP decided rules were broken. Was not the players that awarded punishment.

So yea it really is that simple.

I think the only solution is to kill highsec miners. Everywhere and anywhere. They are guilty and the cause of all our problems. EVE players unite, to kill highsec miners!
