He did back off for a little while when I mentioned that him having claimed he was a lawyer was a crime, but he's back at it now.

The difference is there were many different people (from different backgrounds I might add of nullseccers, lowseccers and highsec carebears) who chimed in on the thread sharing their opinions about the subject. It was quiet apparent the majority was in favour of Erotica being banned and/or saying what he did was outright wrong.

Since the Official CCP announcement, it's now the same small group of people set on repeat posting, creating threads shedding tears.
I was one of those say that what Erotica did was distasteful, what I was not is one of those that were calling for Eroticas head on a pointy stick, Salvos Rhoska was.


So why do you feel so strongly about this then? Do you support harassing, bullying, torturing (pick your word/flavour) other people? If so, Eve is NOT the plaform to do that on, CCP has made that very clear. If you want to participate in this filth go outside and do it, see how the real world responds to it..... I can assure you it won't turn out well for you.

Also, what people have failed to mention is the fact that neither you, CCP or myself knows who ACTUALLY plays EVE. The are other types of people out there who are literally crazy that would play this game. The way Erotica is playing out his scams is enough to really push the wrong persons buttons.

If you take this into consideration, it is in Eroticas best interests that this was a good solution. It is in CCP's best interests in keeping their player base safe where feasible.

While Erotica did push it too far, the darker side of Eve is half of its appeal. I don't condone bullying, torture or anything else of that ilk, what I do support is the right to deprive the greedy and foolish of their stuff, which is what was being done, even if it was in a distasteful manner.

I don't disagree with you at all on this.

What I did find more offensive than Eroticas bonus room was the witch hunt that resulted from Ripard sticking his oar in and stirring up a witch hunt over something that the "victim" of the piece has accepted was at least partially his fault. FunkyBacon had both Sokhar and Erotica on his show the other day, both of whom got to say their piece. Ripard on the other hand won't even talk to Sokhar about what he instigated, and its effects on Sokhar ingame.

I have seen no conclusive proof that E1 even received a ban, and CCP would never give such an admission.

Bans are between CCP and the banned person.

All this bitching about who got banned and for what is really rather pointless.

Lets be REAL....The guy crossed the line he was awarded his punishment and nothing we can do about it but LEARN from his mistake.

It's just that simple.

Whats simpler yet is the 'victim' didn't feel he was tortured, also feels Ripard's crusade did more harm than good, and all the pansy trained seals who ever lost a mackinaw to a ganker (or scammer) chimed in with 400 pages of 'kill the witch!" heresy against HTFU...

What I recommend is for the OP to do what we are doing, shoot a carebear in the face in response...you will feel better than trying to talk the Ripards et al out of their pansy ways.

I appreciate what you say and you're most likely right, I just can't help but feel that a full out ban might not actually be necessary to learn this mistake, Erotica 1 is a pretty reasonable guy after all if you catch him not in his scammer character.

PS can you guys drop the off topic stuff or go on with your usual arguing about whos a lawyer, who isn't and how sick the bonus room really is in the main thread? Big smile Point of this is the bonus room is gone and will stay long gone.

Yes, honourable route.. your options are much better than trying to have a decent discussion (on a discussion forum none the less) whether a permanent ban should be applied ( forget how the bonus room and your opinions of that it shouldnt be in eve - CCP have spoken it won't, that's not what I'm trying to reach at ).
