It's a difficult line to cross when META gaming is such a big part of EVE, you can't deny this.

All I'm saying is, surely we can find deep in our hearts somewhere to forgive Erotica 1, like said in the OP I truly believe that Erotica 1 would stop the bonus room if CCP requested that to be done, and perhaps even take it down a notch in general.

I hate to create the 10000's thread regarding this, but hey I think he should be allowed to play the game, just like you and me, after all we're all going to disagree with each other but IMO that doesn't mean we should put the banhammer down so quickly, what ever happened to a gentle conversation (out-of-character)? Smile

Okay angry Timmy Sprinkles, I appreciate what you've said and noted, now I would appreciate it even more if you could leave some space for others to put down their thoughts regarding the subject, 'yes Erotica 1 is wrong but are we really so bitter that we can't allow the poor guy to play again? Without warning?'.

While I agree that what Erotica did was pretty distasteful, it's nothing that hasn't been done before and found to be acceptable, where he went over the top was combining all of those acceptable things into one unacceptable thing.

I'm neither here nor there on the ban, because bans are pitifully easy to circumvent, if Erotica wants to play Eve again all he needs is a different email address and possible a new credit/debit card.

Reality checkwise, CCP decide where the line is drawn, not us, although they do consider what we say when drawing it.

I find it interesting that the followers and proponent of Mr Tegs 'opinion' seem to be far more vocally abusive and insulting than the ones asking for leniency for Erotica.

Looks like both parties should be congratulated on showing just how low the bar now is in the Eve community when it comes down to Intelligence, respect and maturity.

For the first time in 7 years I am embarrassed to be part of a community which has allowed:

1. To get so emotionally involved in the loss of magic space money.

2. to allow a wormy Politician like Ripard Teg to pass off such a witchhunt

3. CCP for being played by 'the Jester'

4. Everyone for allowing the Meta game to rule and actually get someone banned.

5. Everyone again for not being clever enough to take out grievances IN GAME rather than running to blogs and forums.

Its all pretty pathetic tbh.

Post with my main? This is my main - I just overtrain and overplay my alts.

Obvious tactic.

If you can't beat the smarter and more competent opponents, you create your own puppet opponent with an alt, that you can then "beat" for +1 points as well as say stupid things on to discredit opposition with by generalisation.

I've told you before, all you Erotica1 associates really aren't very smart or good at any of this :)

A few individuals are trying to create the impression of a false groundswell of popular opinion, when infact its just the same butthurt guys as in the original threadnaught throwing all the alts they have at this :)

They are hoping atleast one thread will "stick", or prompt a reaction from someone that legitimises their baseless and false premises.

Its all rather transparent and amateurish.

Scamming spying and all the dirty things are a part of EVE, carebear or not I think we can all agree on that. These things all take part of the meta game as much as they do in the actual game. I feel that if Erotica 1 was actually warned by CCP and/or asked to stop, he would of gladly done so if they felt it was truly bad for the game.

However much you hate Erotica 1 or feel what a sadistic person he is, we all know he is playing the scammer character to some extend and to be honest he represents that part of community fairly well, he is one of the bigger names who represent that side and it would be a little sad to see that go, we all know there is some roleplaying element here.

I don't actually know if Erotica 1's ban is permanent, but surely we can give the guy another chance, and not let the darker side of EVE's community die?

Lets be REAL....The guy crossed the line he was awarded his punishment and nothing we can do about it but LEARN from his mistake.

It's just that simple.

I'm not disputing the CSM statement or CCPs decision, what I am saying is that the threadnaught in question was a populist witch hunt, one instigated by a, soon to be former, CSM who seems to have an anti-risk agenda for Eve

The difference is there were many different people (from different backgrounds I might add of nullseccers, lowseccers and highsec carebears) who chimed in on the thread sharing their opinions about the subject. It was quiet apparent the majority was in favour of Erotica being banned and/or saying what he did was outright wrong.

Since the Official CCP announcement, it's now the same small group of people set on repeat posting, creating threads shedding tears.

P.S - Yes it is very amateurish and quiet obvious alts are actually being created just to post on the subject. It's quiet sad tbh, go out and enjoy the sunshine!

I was one of those saying that what Erotica did was distasteful, I wasn't defending him, I was defending the "right" to relieve the greedy, careless and stupid of their stuff.

What I was not is one of those that were calling for Eroticas head on a pointy stick, Salvos Rhoska was.
