Question regarding the Battlecruiser and Destroyer skill change

So when Battlecruiser V and Destroyer V turned into you getting free skill points in all the racial categories of those ships, there was no way to prevent that from happening if you did not want those racial skills, was there? Or did I miss a way that was made available to opt out of that?

u didnt get free allocable sp. and u only got the sp and the skills for the ships u could fly before. u couldnt op out of the skill changes as far as i know it.

If I'm not mistaken, you needed level 3 in each racial frigate/cruiser to get the corresponding racial destroyer/battlecruiser skill.

EVE is what happens when the rule of law does not apply and Darwinism is allowed to run freely.

So the answer then appears to be yes and there was no way to not get those. As long as you had the racial frigate and/or cruiser skill at 3, and you then had destroyer and/or battlecruiser V, you then got each of the corresponding racial destroyer and battlecruiser skills at 5. Even if you didn't want them.

exactly i did train those to 5 in hope to get free sp for leadership skills but nope no such luck

Right, but if you had all cruisers at 3 and BC at V, you just got a 'free' 4.5M SP technically. Not that I call it free. It adds to your clone costs. It would be like getting a free mansion. Sure you get a huge home for free but you still have to pay to heat it, power it and maintain it. Same applies to me. Sure I got Amarr and Gallente BC V for 'free'. But they are dead skills I never wanted because I don't have any laser or suitable drone and hybrid skills nor do I want to.

Give it a few years and you will train them up, it isn't that many skills in game to train after all.

You can always petition a GM and ask them to remove the skill, might give them a laugh P

Edit: Clarification: ask them to remove the skill from your character, of course, not the game.

Well, that doesn´t seem to work, people have been complaining for the longest time to have their skillpoints in Mining I removed that everyone starts with.

No such luck.

If you had had BC5 and D5 but no frigate skills above 2, then you would have got 2,048,000 unalloc SP.
